Manchin and his fossil fule money have blown up the climate change components and Sinema and her Pharma money have blown up the healthcare components.

Its almost like the Koch funded politicians are ruling the roost at the expense of the American people.

They’re both gutter trash. What they and the whole GOP are doing is absolutely repellent. They want America, born in 1776, to die so that they can make a Frankenstein’s monster of its part that they think will be more to their liking. They’re stopping all progress, the Republican governors have done all they could to make sure that covid has killed as many as possible, and we’re going to live in a warmer world because of this.

I want to know why it is that Republicans get their way every time they’re in power, but Democrats, having won the WH and both houses of Congress, have to piece meal it and nary a Republican can be found who cares enough about the earth or America and the people who live here to play ball. Absolutely dumb, disgusting wastes of taxpayer money.

If you want to make claims to 1776 then you need to understand that the Senate is not, and was never, meant to be reflective of population numbers (that's the house). It was to balance the states and prevent a numerical majority from always triumphing over the minority. The FF were very concerned about the tyranny of the majority (as well as the minority). So far it's done the job quite well.

Yeah. The Midwest has always had two dustbunnies and a horse to rub together. The Founders knew that and they saw the dichotomy up close when comparing population rates in territories like Kentucky versus Massachusetts.

Pretty sure the founding fathers didn't intend for billionaires to step in and take advantage of less populous states and hijack them. But that's what's happened. This needs to be fixed.

Thomas Jefferson and George Washington were the wealthiest landowners in Virginia. With inflation, their combined net worth was three quarters of a billion dollars.

They are the literal embodiment of the billionaire political class today.

Pretty sure they didn't give a lick as long as the laws were obeyed. They believed in private property rights. You didn't work, you didn't eat.

So hilariously funny because there were hundreds of thousands of people mostly slaves and really low paid immigrants who did a hell of a lot of work and still barely got to eat.

As PP said, they believed in property rights not the rights of property, duh.

It should be noted that the founding fathers had a diversity of opinion on all these issues.

Biden reiterated today that he thinks all the tax hikes are dead, so I guess now it’s just a goodie bag of Halloween candy for a few folks?

Yeah, healthy food and safe housing should be the exclusive preserve of the wealthy. Health care is a privilege! And just participating in culture is clearly something we should not extend to people who don’t make a living wage, either.

Looks like a deal is within reach. It won't be what was proposed and Manchin is killing the Climate Change components while Sinema is killing the prescription drug pieces, but even still, it will be good news.

Meaning little to new no revenue to offset spending, it’ll just be deficit financed.

Tax hikes are coming regardless. OECD agreement to hike minimum mandatory corporate tax rate for large business to 15% and to have more consistent rules on how corporations registered in other countries are taxed for onshore and offshore revenue. 136 nations agreed to put it in place by 2023.

Republicans had no problem with $7t of deficit financing for Trump's tax cuts and boondoggles so...
