| Sure. Fine. Vaccinated and hate Elrich here. Whatever you need to do in your mind to keep the schools open. |
let's say we change the laws to require ID to vote. Then would it be fine to require a vax passport ? Are the two related? How about this.... we require people to get a driver's license to drive, but some states (R controlled) don't require a license to own a gun, let alone carry and conceal? See where I'm going with this? |
+1 hate Elrich, fine with vax passport. It will help control covid and keep the schools open. |
What is stopping poor and minorities from getting the vaccine? |
I don't understand this point of view. This isn't coercion. With a vaccine passport policy, people still have a choice of whether or not to get vaccinated. |
You should look up what coercion means. Its too easy to hide behind a claim that it's voluntary when it's not really voluntary if it is designed to be coercive. |
+2 to all of this. |
| Vaccine passports are a great idea!! Happy to see this |
Truth. |
Given the current climate, this is going to push things underground and make things more dangerous for everyone. This is especially true since the litmus test is vaccinations and not tests for immunity natural or otherwise. Time to start building a bunker and prepping. |
Part of the problem is that Republicans like to pair closing/reducing DMV hours in Democratic areas with voter ID laws. Funny how that works, isn't it? I don't, in principle, have a problem with requirements to show ID at the polls. But before you do that, you should do a strong push to get people IDs. |
NP, and I agree with this. Also, I wouldn't object to an ID requirement if IDs were free and easily available. If the nearest DMV is far away and perhaps not even accessible by public transportation, and Rs in your state are closing DMVs in predominantly minority or D areas, and it costs money, and requires documents that also cost money, then you're putting unnecessary obstacles in the way. If you can get your ID at an accessible office for free, then I've got fewer problems with it. Our ID system isn't like that in most developed countries. In fact, I'm old enough to remember conservatives screaming that a national ID was the Mark of the Beast and socialist and a terrible idea. It's also the case that voter fraud that would be prevented by ID is vanishingly rare. Whereas COVID is currently killing over 1,000 Americans a day. |
Sure let’s issue a nationwide Federal ID, free to acquire at any post office, and require businesses to provide days off to acquire and renew and free transport to and from appointments. No republican would support that, even a national ID would be inflammatory. |
Don't forget the tyranny of vaccinations required for school. Also, water fluoridation. And restaurant inspections! I should be allowed to eat at restaurants that keep food at unsafe temperatures, if I want to! (I'm being sarcastic. I'm not certain the OP was being sarcastic, but I sure hope so.) |
