| Per Bethesda Beat, Elrich and outgoing health director Travis Gayles addressed support for a county wide vaccine passport system. They say that it will make more customers feel comfortable patronizing businesses. You would need to show a document just like you would in order to purchase alcohol, or drive. How would we ever survive such tyranny? |
| I’d prefer nation wide |
|
Well I’m French, support the Pass Sanitaire, which made the case surge slow down considerably, so of course this thing sounds great Like PP said, it should be nationwide. Elrich knows a good idea when he sees one.

Jim Eagle policy that would disproportionately hurt the poor and minorities. I can see why MoCo would want it though. |
EVERYTHING disproportionately hurt the poor and minorities. Sorry, but other countries manage. |
+1 including covid |
| There is a greater percentage of Latinos vaccinated in MoCo than white people. |
How so? The vaccine is available to everyone who wants one. |
| Coercion is worse than simply coming out with a mandate. If you're going to go there, own it. |
Not equally available. |
| I'm masked and vaxxed but for some reason the vaccine passport does not sit well with me. I can't put my finger on it so I can't give you a rational reason. I won't fight it or complain but I will give it the side eye. |
| We can't require an ID to vote, but we can require it to enter a business? |
+1 Those good old white Catholics in my neighborhood are still screaming "my freedoms". Not vaccinated. Not masking. |
We SHOULD require an ID to vote. I can't understand why Democrats think this is unfair. All other developed countries do this. |
Can’t speak for others, but my view is that voting is a right, whereas going to a bar is a privilege. Even without a mandate private businesses have the right to refuse service to those whom they deem a hazard to others. |
