Not likely if teens involved. |
+1. We all know certain Black Lives Matter more than others. |
Nope. If it were truly 99.99% then there wouldn't be nearly this many guns in the hands of criminals. |
| It's guns. |
| Blaming guns is a cop out. It’s easy. It’s not guns that led to this little girl’s death. It’s the wanton disregard for the lives of others that did. That’s a cultural problem and it has to change. I have no problem with the district enforcing restrictive gun laws but until this self-centered culture of death that devalues human life changes the criminals will still get the guns and more little girls will die in the crossfire. |
Exactly. If 99.99% of gun owners were responsible, that implies there are only 33,000 irresponsible gun owners in the entire country. Shoot, there are probably 33,000 irresponsible gun owners in DC alone. |

Guns are not jumping out of holsters and cabinets shooting people anymore than cars are self-aware and running over pedestrians or knives are escaping kitchens and stabbing people up in the streets.
|
Yep. If these guys were forced to fight their battles via knives and hand-to-hand combat, Nyiah Courtney and Jeremy Black would both be alive right now. We don’t allow citizens to own RPGs or anti-aircraft guns and everybody is fine with that and no one complains that their second amendment rights are being violated because of it. So Americans are comfortable with gun control, we’re just drawing the line in the wrong place. |
+1 It's guns. In the Wild West, when gunslingers, cowboys, and outlaws would ride into a town, they'd have to check their guns, right at the entrance. For town safety. Nowadays, we've forgotten that. |
It is guns. We've been posted to Asia and came back this summer. I'd forgotten what it was like to open the American news and see the never ending gun violence. Of a 6 year old!! God help her family as they process this unimaginable loss. |
^THIS! These violent criminals make a risk-benefit analysis. Most of them are not stupid. They are immoral, but not dumb. They think they can 1) get away with their crimes and 2) are not terribly worried about consequences if caught with a handgun. The penalties are not a deterrent and they know the consequences won't be severe. |
Well, build walls around towns and cities and perhaps we can talk. In the meantime, cracking down on criminals commiting these violent crimes in the first place instead of pleading down and out and letting them back out quickly to victimize others. |
Actually, it’s entirely lawful for private citizens to own RPG’s and anti aircraft guns provided they comply with the relevant formalities. |
I’m not a lawyer, but FWIW… https://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/18/2332g |
That section does not reference an anti aircraft gun. It is applicable to a surface to air missile. |
