Did you want such a large family from the start? |
You're just an uninformed twat. If you paid attention to what's happening around you instead of taking anecdotal stories and trying to pass them off as the norm , you should know that the birth rate in America has reached a 40 year low. In other words , Americans aren't having kids . |
DP. Agreed that anecdotes are not statistics, but what also matters is what statistic you look at. If you look at how many children the average US woman will have, it hasn’t budged much, but we know that increasing numbers of women are electing to not ever have kids. So, it seems logical that some women are having more babies to balance out those in their cohort who do not. |
Ah ah ah ah ah ah ah ah . So Kathryn is going to have 4-5 kids to make up for a Kailey she doesn't effing know ?????? I swear some of you can't help it but confirm the stereotype of the dumb, vacant women. |
Brady Bunch is unusual because it's about two secular families with three kids each merging. That's a fairly unusual situation no matter what time period you are in.
Most very large families are frankly very religious families. It probably tracks closely to the number of people who self-identify as certain religions (or certain levels of certain religions)--e.g., orthodox Judaism, LDS, devout Catholic, etc. |
Yes. Would have had more if not for age and complications. |
Quite rare nowadays. |
We who? Who the hell is we? What business is it of anyone outside of my spouse and I's bedroom how many children we plan to have? |
Are you religious? Or have a farm? |
This is very uncommon and I’m sure you know this?
I’m 40 and do not know anyone, personally, who has more than 4 kids under 18 (obviously I know some who grew up in 5+ kid families). Not one family. I’m certain there are some around (of course) but I don’t know one- not in our extended families, not anyone at the kids’ schools or activities, not in the neighborhood, on and on- zero. I know a handful of families with 4. It’s only reported BECAUSE it is so unusual. |
Yeah my mom's family is LDS and she is one of 6 kids but every one of her siblings, even the ones still active in the church, have at most 4 kids (they all have at least 2). |
No farm. As for being religious, it is defined as, “relating to or believing in a religion,” so yes. I’m sure you’d like to believe it means something different though so I’ll leave any conjecture up to you. |
Do other people in your religion also have large families? Does your religion encourage large families or discourage birth control? Does it play a factor at all in your family planning? |
Wait, you really think that someone is having more kids just to make up for someone having less? Rather than simply understanding that two trends can occur at the exact same time: Some women having zero kids and others having 3+? Talk about dumb. |
“Every family”??
Your logic skills are sorely lacking. |
