Except its not so uncommon anymore? Every week I see an article on IVF multiples or somehow a family of 5+ got into some kind of trouble or a celebrity with the same number - Eddie Murphy has 9 and Kevin Costner has 7.

They really need to start teaching basic statistics in schools.

The plural of anecdotes isn't data.  It's uncommon, but the rare incidents make good clickbait, so you see them in the "media".

DP. Agreed that anecdotes are not statistics, but what also matters is what statistic you look at.

If you look at how many children the average US woman will have, it hasn’t budged much, but we know that increasing numbers of women are electing to not ever have kids. So, it seems logical that some women are having more babies to balance out those in their cohort who do not.[/quote]
