He could have said, I want to hear your concerns but our security protocols require you to stand outside. And, if you have concerns, please call this phone number so we can hear them. Etc.
They aren't our personal servants but they drive our kids and we have a right to challenge abusive behavior. |
I somewhat agree, but yelling at her in front of the kids would not exactly be considered "respectful" behavior, either. |
A little late to this thread but my daughter melted a whole in her fleece pants on the school bus last week. But i guess that wasnt the point of this post. |
No, there was an ongoing concern with the driver exhibiting road rage and yelling at the kids since the beginning of the school year. Parents had complained but MCPS did nothing until one parent realized they had to tape him and send the video to news iutlet in order to get him out. This is why this parent did what she did and I admire her for it. MCPS as usual is perfectly fine with employees abusing kids. |
Complaints were made and not acted upon. The fault is squarely on MCPS. |
Seriously. God grant me the confidence of a mediocre white Bethesda lawyer. |

She could have easily posed the same question from OUTSIDE the bus. She knew exactly what she was doing, she manipulated the situation by boarding the bus (she obviously know she'd get the biggest reaction that way, after all she needed it for her video). She baited him... and he fell for it, hook line and sinker. He was right though -- he doesn't know her, she could have been some crazy person there to harm the kids. It was inappropriate for her to board the bus, but he should have checked his temper. Her kid HAD to have been cringing the entire time... this isn't elementary school for God's sake, how embarrassing for him/her. |

He's only paid $17 an hour. That doesn't require that he have that level of finesse. |
