who cares? They are both getting something out of it. It's consensual. Yes, I am sure they know the younger attractive woman wouldn't be with them except for their money, just as I know my wife who is similar age to me would be with me if I wasn't conventionally attractive and successful. Just as I wouldn't be with her if she wasn't my type physically or we didn't connect sexually.

I think that people also wildly overstate how common this is. There are some highly visible cases where this happens, but it's a very small subset of even rich men.

OP here. My question was not what others think of this, but what does the man in the relationship think?

Just attended a wedding for and older wealthy relative whose first wife died of cancer. Wife #2 is 15 years younger and extremely attractive. Engagement ring is enormous.

Does old rich relative really think this woman is not in it for the cushy lifestyle? She took a major step up marrying him.

Does Trump think Melanie married him for anything other than money?

Or the men know it’s the money and just accept it. Which is their choice as consenting adults - I’m just wondering.

They know the woman wouldn't be with them if they were poor. But that's not what you are asking. You want to know if they feel gross or guilty because this is slightly more transactional than some closer in age marriages. Answer - hell no. They are thrilled they have a younger, hotter wife to have sex with, which is a pretty big deal since marriage at its essence is a sexual relationship.

Money + status + power = male confidence. And young pretty women like ALL of that.

That is culturally constructed.

A lot of time the woman targets a rich man. I have a few friends like this. They only date men who meet a set of criteria ie doctor, big law, etc. Now if they ran into a really wealthy man worth a 1/2 billion, they would do everything they could to marry him. It’s like a kissup at work or someone who manages up. They just see that jet set life and want it.

People ingratiate themselves to truly wealthy people. So these really rich men and women think nothing they do sinks. Everyone tells they how great they are. Why won’t he have a desirable/high status wife? Just like some women think they deserve a high status husband.

Are you new to humanity? Women have always gravitated to stability, power and resources. That's why these mean get the cream of the crop. The women might be in it for the money, but they are highly disposable

Honestly, I think many of those fossils think they are hot stuff. Look at Bezos, while he's not that much older than his gf he surely looks it. A total money grab, but many people in love fail to see the true person. Everyone is on their best behavior in the beginning. Women tend to be great actors especially if there's a great prize to be had. $$.

Yes but those kind of women aren't the "cream of the crop". They are bottom dwellers and parasites. The world is filled with them, as well as men. If I had a ton of money the last thing I'd want to do is buy someone. I'd rather have a true love partner, though that's not attainable for many.

I remember that. Some women are like the ones on Fear Factor. They can eat bugs, worms, beetles, etc. for a measly 50k. I couldn't stomach it. Even with a truck load of tums, BUT there are those that can, and worse. Sure it might be 1-3 minutes of terror, but they reason the pay off is with it.

I work at a company with a college hiring program and I interact with post college age girls daily. I’ve heard them lost their criteria for men on several occasions. Invariably it involves money and height.

Men and women both want to get what they value out of relationship and why shouldn’t they? They should get to be happy. If that looks “transactional” to everyone else thats too bad.
