Yes, but 137 and 5’6” is not bikini material.

Did you not read that op has DD bordering on triple D's? She likely is bikini material currently. 10 pounds less, she'll rock the bikini!

I’m 5’3 and it’s taken me 5 months to lose 15lbs. I’m 48 and premenopausal. The weight loss has been incredibly slow. People tell me that they can tell but I can’t. I’ve lost maybe an inch from my waist. My clothes have not changed sizes. I’m more toned from the gym though and I think you can see that through the weight loss.

I’d love to lose another 10 but at the rate I’m going it’s going to be Xmas before that happens.

You can lose 10lbs through starvation. Skip Breakfast. Drink a lot of Water. Eat Avacados and Salad for Lunch. Skip Dinner entirely and drink a lot of water. There you go, you have lost one to two lb. Do it once a week. For all other days, you can limit your calorie intake to 1800 and watch your 10lbs disappear in a month. I suggest avoiding Gym and exercise entirely. They will make you feel very hungry and you may gain weight immediately. You want to start Gym only after losing the 10lbs so that you can maintain the weight loss.

This may be true but you have to figure out what your ultimate goal is. If it's just to lose 10 pounds with no consequences then yes, starve yourself. If you want to lose 10 pounds and be HEALTHIER, then do not follow this advice.

DP Also, if you want to keep it off you have to do it slower. Otherwise, your body will fight back and you will gain the 10 and maybe more.

I also hate how we as a society make women feel bad about their bodies. We avoid doing things because we feel we aren't "body" ready. But, to me if you have a body than you are ready..

But it is a drop in possibly 2 clothing sizes.

Yes! You can do it!! I just lost 8 lbs in a month, and it wasn’t THAT hard.

I reduced and counted calories, dropped sugar and stayed away from carbs. Lots of veggies. Daily exercise but nothing insane.

Good luck!

What do you mean?! A ten pound loss makes most people look better. Op is is 147 at 5'6, ten lbs lost would put her at 137. She probably looks good now and losing 10 pounds will make her look even better.

M+100

Ten pounds is significant! OP will look and feel awesome!

OP I am 5’5” and 141 lbs and trying to get down to 130 lbs. I have lost 20 lbs since January.
I lost 10 lbs in Jan, 10 lbs in Feb and NOTHING since. I completely plateaued. That being said, I definitely have too many cheat meals or even cheat long weekends due to travel and getting lazy.
I was successful those first two months simply by using calorie deficit. I stuck to 1200 calories a day by portion control, cutting out booze 6 days/ week, and choosing foods that made me feel fuller longer. It sucks, and it’s not sustainable, but it’ll work.
I’ve plateaued (vs gaining it all back) because I cheat a lot but I don’t fully go off the deep end. I’ll have a ‘bad’ weekend but then go back to being very strict m-f.

DP here. Just want to say thank you for posting this. I too want to lose 10 lbs and I think 8 lbs is a reasonable weight loss in a month. And knowing that you did what I'm starting to do now (counting calories, staying away from sugar/carbs); and exercising regularly; makes me hopeful that I can lose these stubborn last 10 lbs. I don't want to go crazy by doing drastic things that aren't going to last.

I lost 10 lbs in 7 weeks by cutting back calories and exercising. The first week I lost about 4 pounds but most of that was probably water weight. After that I lost about 1 pounds per week. I eat about 1200 cals per day and work out 45 min to an hour on the elliptical almost every day while I watch a show. And yes I think losing 10 lbs will absolutely make you look better in your bikini!

I should mention that I'm only 5'2" so you can probably eat more calories than I did to lose the same amount. Sucks to be short.
