The above sums up my experience too. I'm about halfway through my first round, and I can see myself signing up for another. My coach is EXCELLENT and not MLM-y at all, which has made a huge difference (she's actually a professional therapist, which is really helpful!). I really like the support and accountability of the Facebook group. I also don't plug the program to anyone and would never get an affiliate link or be a coach or whatever. It really has removed the mental load of nutrition for me - I love a set of rules and I find the program to be pretty realistic and sustainable. The low carb and low macro days are not my favorite, but there's always a regular macro day around the corner to look forward to. I'm seeing results and I feel a lot better now that my gluten/dairy intake is limited. I agree that you could totally DIY the intermittent fasting and carb cycling, but I am willing to pay the fee for the accountability of the group and the relationship with the coach. |
Don't waste your $200. You can find out exactly how to do IF, carb cycling and macro counting on your own. The coach support system is a joke....and it's just like all the other "hot" brands that get started with influencers...wait another 9-12 months (if that) and it will won't be all over bloggers's pages and their Instagram. Wish I never would have signed up. |
I completely agree I wasted $200 and totally regret it! They put me in a FB group with 1200+ People- it’s was absolute chaos! My questions weren’t answered and when they were it was a different coach each time so completely I personal and I just wanted a small accountability group. I didn’t even bother checking the group after 3 weeks and no one checked in with me like they PROMISED. Obviously a gimmick, and after the first 4 weeks they wanted to roll our FB group into the larger member group- what good is that if no one’s paying attention?!? There’s so much good information out there by Dianne Sanfilippo, Leanne Vogel, Dr Berg and many others! You don’t need this waste of money and time! |
Scam, and they're pushing skipping breakfast as "intermittent fasting". Nah, you're just skipping breakfast. ![]() |
I really liked the program and I did lose weight. I had my best physical at the doctor in years and my doctor asked if I had been exercising. In truth, exercising for me mostly just consists of daily routines, but I had completely changed my bloodwork and blood pressure just by utilizing intermittent fasting and cycling my macros. I only did one round and the program was too challenging for me personally to motivate myself to do on my own.
But yes Amanda Tress is trash and it makes me cringe every time I have to watch her and her clearly fake boobs bob around on the Internet. |
I have been on this plan since May 11, 2020. I started at 144 lbs expecting to lose 10 lbs. It is now August 20, 2020 and I have consistently lost NOTHING. I didn't find the transition into their food plan difficult; in fact, going dairy and gluten free was pretty easy. However, each time I weighed myself I realized I was going nowhere but each month I continued my membership with hope. My coach kept telling me to stop weighing myself because I was transforming fat into muscle and the scale wasn't a good point of reference. I get it - but after more than 12 weeks of their food plan and workouts, that muscle should have been burning fat and dropping pounds and it wasn't. Also, I didn't like how each time I told her (and the head trainer at FWTFL) that I had weighed myself, I would be told not to. I reminded both of them that muscle is important, but pounds are also a vital factor in overall health assessment. My conclusion is that this is not a one-plan-fits-all and it simply is not working for me. I feel like it has thrown my body into a metabolic sh**storm
I have been doing some reading on how this is likely a MLM set up, and I am kicking myself for not realizing this sooner. I can see all of the characteristics in the people involved. Conclusion, I am now out 3.5 months and @$450 and I believe I am done. I will be looking online for my workouts and macro planning, for free !!! |
are there good sources (and maybe peer reviewed articles on?) carb cycling/calorie cycling? My metabolism is pathetically slow (rmr is under 1k calories) and I'm hoping to find a way to raise it but hate the idea of signing up for a program that I could learn about from a book from the library. |
I've done the Faster Way program for almost 2 years. It's been life-changing. To the folks who say it's a waste of money, you simply didn't do it correctly. To the folks who say these workouts are like anything you can find on the internet and there are no helpful meal plans...it's simply not true. There is a wealth of information at your fingertips. This isn't a quick fad diet or detox. It's a change to your entire lifestyle.
I combine the workouts with outside HIIT workouts but, honestly, the FW HIIT workouts are great. The at-home strength workouts are amazing. My husband does them with me and always comments on how challenging they are. I've gained so much muscle and lost fat. There are literally hundreds of different workouts. HIIT, strength, resistance bands, kettlebell, kickboxing, yoga, stretching, dance, etc. They give gym and at-home workouts, and show all sorts of modifications for those who need it. ANY fitness level can use this program. This program teaches you that you CAN eat in moderation, as long as you pay attention to your overall macros. Especially protein! It teaches intermittent fasting. There are hundreds if not thousands of recipes and plans for meat-eaters and vegans. The program starts with being in a group for about 7 weeks and being accountable. This helps you learn and grow and create a habit. After those 7 weeks, you only pay if you want to continue to have access to the meal plans and workouts. If you don't want to pay, you already know everything you need to continue intermittent fasting and tracking macros. As for the MLM, there are FW coaches that oversee your first 7 week program. It's a lot of work, and they get paid for it. People get paid for doing good things. It's not like they are selling you the same protein powder every two weeks. If you are committed, want real change, and understand that 90% of the game is nutrition, it's worth it. |
I just started it 3 weeks ago. I have not weighed myself as you aren't supposed to until after 6 weeks but I definitely feel a difference in they way my clothes fit. There is plenty of food and the workouts are easy because they are from home and only 1/2 hr. I don't feel deprived and I notice a difference in my energy from carb cycling and intermittent fasting. I needed some structure.
I do not like the MLM of this though. It leaves a bad taste in my mouth. I don't buy any of the products she pushes. I'm gonna finish the 6 weeks and possibly sign on for a few more months if it goes well. I do, however think you can simply copy the macros they give you and just use fitness pal if u want the same results. I don't think the "coaches " offer that much benefit. |
What’s the key? Macros or carb cycling or IF? I actually was just researching it. A girl on IG keeps being “suggested” on my feed and I was seeing all of her posts on it as a coach. I actually thought it was HER program and she did it all alone. Then I saw she was a top coach and I realized it’s an MLM. This lady is particularly targeting 40+ peri menopause women and she doesn’t seem to follow IF. She looks great. |
