I’m down 10 pounds!

Nice work OP!
I have two kids (4 and 16 months) and I am finally approaching my “pre both children” weight. I am 5’4” and I was 145 when I got pregnant with my first son. I have always had to work really hard to maintain my weight – at my wedding I was about 135, which is really, really low for me, and I did that by taking spin classes or running like 4 miles every day, and watching what I ate really closely. With my first son I gained a ton of weight – I was about 200 lbs when I delivered! I lost all the weight by the time my son was 1, but then I was diagnosed with post partum depression and put on Zoloft, and I gained a bunch of weight back. When I got pregnant with my second son, I was about 160. I gained about 40 lbs with my second pregnancy and was about 200 lbs again when I delivered. I lost all of the weight I gained in about 6 months, and it has taken me about 10 months to go from 160 to my current weight of 148. I am watching what I eat really closely (counting calories on myfitnesspal), and I workout at home by doing spinning and Bootcamp workouts on the Peloton app. I wan to lose 8-10 more pounds and stay around there for life!

I am finally under 200 after three kids and years of struggle. I was 160 when I got pregnant with my 1st and my youngest just turned three.
I think 160 is too lofty of a goal and would be happy at 170.
It finally feels attainable.
What works for me:
Like a PP, I fast 6 pm to noon, other than coffee with cream.
Protein heavy lunch, and aim for a light dinner. I find it’s most realistic to eat whatever the kids are eating, just a small portion of it’s not super lean. Like if they have spaghetti and meatballs, rather than aim to make myself a separate meal, I have a big salad and very small plate of spaghetti.

1300 calories a day is the goal.
I like reading about everyone’s success. Keep em coming.

how long did this take you?
this is me exactly. just got a fitbit so I am in the obsessive phase of calories in/out and counting steps.
any advice on # of calories per day and exercise?

How could anyone possibly tell you how many calories per day you should eat without knowing your stats such as height, weight, body fat percent, etc.?

Michael Phelps eats 12,000 calories/day. Should you?

Awesome OP! I have been really pushing myself running and working out lately and have managed to drop the last 5lbs of baby weight in the past month or so. I am so happy!

I had two kids back to back (19 months apart) and the youngest is now 1.5 years old. I gained a whopping 60lbs with both kids. Weighed around 195lbs at birth with both kids (I am 5'7") and am now back down to my pre-pregnancy weight! I am not a good dieter but I do like to work out so I just try and eat a little bit better and push myself during my workouts.

Congrats, OP!! Keep it up!

Wholly guacamole - I'm 5'7" and no where near your current weight. I would take that I am 204 and I swore to myself I am not going over 200 lbs. Unfortunately, I did. I'm a little bit older than you 53, but I would luvto be 165 lbs. Just know that I'm officially jealous and I don't even know you. Your my super hero!

I posted the above. A little more info: I am 49, due to multiple moves with kids and an extended job search, I have been stressed, lonely and at times down. I tried weight watchers, no luck with weight loss though. I have always been an exerciser. I've been going to orange theory consistently for almost 3 years. It has made me fit and strong, sleep well and have better mood regulation. But it does not help me lose weight, in fact it makes me super hungry, resulting in my needing massive willpower at night to not overeat. But, I gotta sleep and feel positive so I keep going to OTF.

Finally succeeded with weight loss due to the motivation of a massive reunion this summer, and fasting. It was easier for me to just delete breakfast but have coffee with heavy cream, eat a big protein and veggie heavy meal about mid afternoon at my desk, and then go to a 5:30 orange theory. Then at night, just hang on, maybe nibble a little protein and veggies and have some ACV, gut shot or pickle juice. Stay busy, brush teeth early and get to bed. I did this 3-4 days a week, and let myself have alcohol and yummy food on the weekends, but no binging.

About 3-4 months of this routine, continuing with exercise every day, resulted in a loss of 15. I am 5'7", Went from 160 to 155, plateaued there for a while, then bore down and started going below 150. Now I am 143, would like to get to about 135-138. I am pretty cut from OTF and can now see these muscles and six pack, which is nice. They were there but invisible before.

I am really enjoying shopping my closet, my DH's handsyness, and my own renewed confidence. I wish I did not attach my confidence to my weight as much, but asi es, this is how I've always been. My face looks different, I am less puffy, and my joints don't hurt as much.

I may gain it back but I plan to do my best by keeping to light evening meals. Just my experience so far, thanks for reading.

Congrats OP! I"m trying to lose my last 10 pounds of baby weight, and I finally got down to business about 6 weeks ago (I have a 14 mont old). I've already lost 6 pounds and an inch around my waist. Ideally I'd like to lose two more inches around my waist to get back to pre-pregnancy measurements. I've been doing Bar method at home with a diastasis recti ab workout swapped in and counting calories using my fitness pal. The only thing I've really changed about my diet is to stop snacking, and I think that really helped.

Thank you for posting, as I'm the same age and am at your starting weight! I need to lose at least 20-25 pounds to look good.

I want to be looking good for DH's reunion in late October.

Please post any other tips!

Thanks for sharing, OP! I have similar goals to you. Your plan is one I can try, it's reasonable enough and I already do OT.
