| Op, when I start, I go 24 hours with nothing but water and tea. It does empty me out, makes me less bloated and gives me the sense that I am already feeling better from making an effort. |
| OP here. Thank you, everyone for the great suggestions. Lots here I can work with. |
| You don't need a cleanse. You have kidneys and a liver. |

about a year ago, I did the soup 'cleanse' by Soupergirl. I am not sure if they still offer them, I received 20 soups to eat 4 per day with two "off' days for a week. I thought the soups were delicious, though I did not lose weight that week, I felt like it was a good start.
I am considering this again to restart a weight loss plan now after having a baby |
| Another whole 30 recommendation here. |
| Np. I have about the same amount of weight to lose. I tried whole 30 and failed miserably. Just not sustainable even for 30 days for me! I did sign up for weight watchers new freestyle program and it’s been incredibly easy. I’ve been on it for three weeks this week and have lost about 6lbs and that’s with going over my points due to trial last week I didn’t track for crap. The new program has about 200 zero point foods including eggs and chicken and beans. It’s about high protein and low carb. |
| Another NP. I'm doing WW too and completely agree w PP; it's easy to follow and I've had success. |
| OP here. Thanks everyone for the helpful ideas. I started Whole30 today. I'll try and check in after a few days to tell you how I'm doing. I also spent my lunch hour at the gym. For the first time that I can recall, I think I may finally have the motivation that I need to see this through. |
She still offers the "cleanse" plus all the soups are vegan and low sodium. So its a great plant based way to jump start a diet or just get on track for better eating. |
| Ive just started back on my weightloss routine....have gained too much weight in the past 2 years. For me I do well with a shake for breakfast (shakeology) I eat what I want for lunch and dinner I stick to lean protein and veggies, no carbs. It works for me. Everyone is different you have to find the combo that works for you. Good Luck OP! |
How is it going? I started the Whole 30 yesterday not so much for weight loss but more as a reboot to healthy eating and want to see if I feel better off gluten or dairy. |

Simple, cheap, healthy and effective cleanse.
Drink a glass of warm water with the juice of one lemon in the morning before you have anything else to eat or drink. After breakfast, make sure that you drink a glass of water, or pho soup, with half a teaspoon of inulin and a teaspoon of liquid ionic Magnesium dissolved in it 30 minutes before eating any meal. Drink a lot of pho soup through out the day, or make your own by cooking homemade chicken broth with garlic, ginger, onions and as much cilantro as you can manage. Also add black pepper, lemon juice and Himalayan pink salt to it. Drink only water, soup, skim milk. If you cut off the following beverages - soda, juice, alcholal, coffee and tea - you will be surprised how much better you start to feel and how much weight you lose. In the second week - add unsweetened organic kombucha, kimchi and yogurt to all your meals. You need to change your gut bacteria for really good bacteria for effortless weight loss. Inulin provides prebacteria support and kombucha, kimchi and non-sweetened plain organic yogurt repopulates good bacteria. Keep up this routine for one month. You will lose around a pound a week. Be prepared for big (and easy) eliminations. You will be pooping 2-3 times a day and big quantities. For more benefit - eliminate obvious junk - chips, cookies etc. |
Thanks for asking! This is OP. This is day 9 of the Whole30 for me and it's going great! I feel better and more energetic. For the first time in my life, I've somehow been able to tap into my willpower. I can't explain it. But it's working. And I feel much better. So I'm 1/3 of the way there. I stepped on the scale the first day but haven't since, so while I hope and assume I"m losing a bit of weight, I can't be sure. But from the reading I've done the Whole30 isn't intended to be a weight loss program, but a program to rid your body of unhelpful toxins and reset yourself. I have also been working out in my office gym each work day, plus I've signed up for Pilates. So, things are looking hopeful. Good luck, PP. |
OP here. Thanks for taking the time to share. Intriguing. I'm not sure I have the willpower to do this, but I'm saving this for possible use in the future. |
