Help! I need to lose 45 pounds - recommend a cleanse to get be started

Drink a glass of warm water with the juice of one lemon in the morning before you have anything else to eat or drink.

After breakfast, make sure that you drink a glass of water, or pho soup, with half a teaspoon of inulin and a teaspoon of liquid ionic Magnesium dissolved in it 30 minutes before eating any meal. Drink a lot of pho soup through out the day, or make your own by cooking homemade chicken broth with garlic, ginger, onions and as much cilantro as you can manage. Also add black pepper, lemon juice and Himalayan pink salt to it.

Drink only water, soup, skim milk. If you cut off the following beverages - soda, juice, alcholal, coffee and tea - you will be surprised how much better you start to feel and how much weight you lose.

In the second week - add unsweetened organic kombucha, kimchi and yogurt to all your meals. You need to change your gut bacteria for really good bacteria for effortless weight loss. Inulin provides prebacteria support and kombucha, kimchi and non-sweetened plain organic yogurt repopulates good bacteria.

Keep up this routine for one month. You will lose around a pound a week.

Be prepared for big (and easy) eliminations. You will be pooping 2-3 times a day and big quantities. For more benefit - eliminate obvious junk - chips, cookies etc.

PP, how do you feel about water kefir? I've just started brewing water kefir drinks and I LOVE them. I'm still not clear how much water kefir I should drink a day though. Any thoughts? (I don't do any of the other stuff you mentioned)

I use the following tools, off and on:
Stopping drinking
Stopping dessert/sugar in anything but coffee
No eating hours (7 pm to 11 am)
Biggest, most caloric meals at lunch
Eating off a salad plate instead of a regular one
Greatly restricting pasta and rice

It's no one magic bullet, just a bunch of options when I feel I am heavier than I like to be.

I also weigh myself daily.

Congrats on doing the Whole 30! This was going to be my suggestion. I've done it twice and both times I've lost about 8 pounds in the 30 days. I think it's a great starting tactic because it gets you eating healthy foods, feeling good, and will get you motivated with the weight loss.

Beware that Days 12-14 are typically the hardest days of the Whole 30 - DO NOT GIVE UP! If you can get through those days, the rest of the 30 days will be super easy. And when the 30 days are done, you can decide what to add back in.

Also, as you are losing weight be sure to hit the gym 3-4 times a week. It won't necessarily help with weight loss, but will help with tone and give you great results as you lose.

Good luck!

Me too. I've lost 9 pounds this month. My daughter has lost 12. We are both using just the app. No meetings. Some foods are unlimited. The things you have to count and limit are primarily sugars, red meats, carbs.

Whole30 is a good, low-inflammation diet and a smart option for bringing clarity to you with regards to your eating habits. Sugar and processed carbs can be **hard** to give up. Kudos to you for wanting to turn things around.

Thanks for the positive feedback! OP here. Today is day 12, so I'm right in the sweet spot of it being tough. But I"m doing ok. Maybe relying on nuts a little too much, but I miss crunch! I've been working out almost ever day and last night was my first Pilates class ever. I LOVED it. Truly. And You are so right about how Whole30 makes you more food aware. Trust me, I very much look forward to reintroducing things like pizza and pasta into my diet but now I'll be aware to do it in a limited, moderate way. One slice of pizza with a salad will hopefully replace the 3 or 4 that I would typcially consume.

Many thanks. OP
