It's funny, isn't it? When HRC aroused such feelings of disgust, liberals blamed it on "sexism." I guess they don't see their own behavior toward Comstock as sexism, because... liberals.

I'm a woman and Comstock has violated her district and should be impeached. Where is her signature on Gerry Connelly's SALT deduction letter?
https://connolly.house.gov/uploadedfiles/salt_tax_reform_2017.pdf

Comstock has Mclean through Winchester and the hefty property and state income tax people. No one cares if Repub or Dem - she is not helping her constituents. Her area supports the counties, the state, and the feds via taxes. Honestly, everyone gets 1 house rep. Who do you even complain to when you're stuck with a Comstock?

The dems [except for Neal-Mass] did such a poor job on Cspan yesterday in Salt lobbying. Focus was on double taxation-note it pays for different stuff so the argument is moot. SALT is the one way the govt has to deal with COLA.

I think she was toast as soon as her party proposed a tax bill that will negatively affect a huge number of her constituents. NoVa Republicans tend to lean socially liberal/fiscally conservative. What is the point of having a Republican rep if her party is going to cause your taxes to increase?

+1. And frankly if she doesn't openly denounce the NRA and give back all their money (never gonna happen) I could never vote for her. I don't care if Scooby Doo runs against her.

Yep. There are obviously going to be some single-issue voters who will vote for her no matter what, but the majority of Republican voters care about more than one issue and usually taxes are one of them.

This. The tax bill is going to hammer the housing market in her district. People will run her out simply on that front. They don't even need to think about Trump.

It's in "Metropolitan DC Local Politics." Comstock is a local pol. Seems right to me.

Trump needs Acela corridor Republicans -- and Comstock is the southernmost one we have -- in order to keep his House in order.

This tax bill essentially gives suburban salaried professionals the finger.

Only way that'd work is if she flipped parties.

Becoming a Trump critic will make the base just stop caring.

We don't hate her because she's a woman. We hate her because of how she votes, which isn't representative of her constituents' views.

You forget, Hillary got 3 million more votes than did Trump.

It's funny how trumpeteers want to twist our words and motives when nothing is further from the truth. Liberal women would embrace Comstock in a heartbeat if she wasn't working against our interests.

That's exactly right. Here's how SALT removes the high COLA finger to the Acela Corridor:

Retired? That means flexibility to move. DE has really low property taxes and PA doesn't tax retirement income. Note there has been outflow among NJ retirees to PA. DE has the beach. Retirees can move and people who use more pubic services like schools can move in.

I have issues with a lot of her stances. Her gender has nothing to do with it. There are several very strong women running against her - my daughter even appeared in one of their campaign ads.

I can't get rid of comstock.
