I understand how they came up with the name, but I don't understand why.

Because she IS the Queen. Nobody does it better. I'm not a huge fan, but she is a great entertainer. I went to the Mrs. Carter concert--took my DD and I can't lie. It.Was.Phenomenal. She and her team knows how to put on a show. She has a real artistic vision and he fans completely buy into it.

I wish female performers would get out of the habit of wearing leotards. This is one of the many reasons I like Adele. She's clearly dressed up for a special occasion (performing), but not showing off her body.

Beyonce is a dancer. Dancers (often) wear leotards when they perform. And her body is amazing- strong and beautiful. What's wrong with showing that off?

+1. Yeah, I love Adele as well. Went to her concert too, but she does not compare to Beyonce when performing (and she doesn't need to). Adele is a pure singer. Beyonce is an entertainer in the same vein of Micheal, Prince, Elvis, Cher and even old school showmen Wayne Newton and Tom Jones. I love Adele, lover her, paid $500 for tickets to her show, but she does not compare to Beyonce.

If I had Beyonce's body I would wear a leotard every day.

I love me some Destiny's Child and early Beyoncé, so I'm not a total hater.... But I lost all respect for her "dancing abilities" when she put out video after video of the same exact thing: Three ladies in leotards shaking their thighs, maybe a twirl thrown in for variety. But literally only shaking their thighs. What talent does that involve?

Isn't that an opinion, though?

Well obviously. But her Queen Bey title isn't legally binding or anything so it's ok.

I'm 34 and a lot of her songs have been in the background of my whole life. In high school it was songs from Destiny's Child, in college it was Crazy in Love everywhere, and most recently the Lemonade stuff and Formation.

I'm 38. Grew up on country music, although I don't idolize or fangirl over any of them either. I wouldn't know where to find her music on XM, to be honest.

I read Queen Bey as Queen "Bay"

Like Wee Bey in The Wire.

Agree. I grew up listening to classic rock mixed with whatever was current at the time, including punk, funk, ska, rap, country, blues, and some pop. I was vaguely familiar with the Destiny Child's song about ballers because it was a party song when I was in college, but c'mon, this is not real music.

Not stanin' for Beyonce, but to each their own. I don't think classic rock is real music either.

Yup, I'm not even a fan of her last few albums, but Beyoncé (and maybe Bruno Mars) are the last of a dying breed. This current generation of "singers" is more preoccupied with posing on Instagram than developing their craft.

Let me guess... you are white and alternative.

I'm coming on here to +100 this because they are truly a dying breed of entertainers who give it all and do it live. Both of them are incredible performers. I love, love, love Bruno Mars. I'm also not totally sold on all of Lemonade but come on - it was a master class on how to construct a bold concept album. She has real talent.
