I guess you aren't a Nats fan and know who Dusty Baker is.

I'm a different poster, but it's fair to say primarily white coaches.

Outreach to communities of color is key. I've seen it in their commercials (nice one last season featuring an African-American family) and the work they do here in DC. It's not perfect and there's always more to do. But there is an effort.

I would think that guilt over the astronomical salaries could lead to positive change.

Oh my god. Does everything have to be about the all inclusive kumbaya liberal agenda?

There's a whole conversation that's been going on in the sports world about how Black people dont play baseball. Adam Jones is one of few. I became aware of the ongoing convo during the Kaepernick take-a-knee thing...and how it wasn't relevant in the baseball world.

OP, if this is something that you are *really* interested in, all you have to do is google "why dont black people play baseball". The first URL was this espn article from a few years ago http://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/9186117/why-african-americans-play-pro-baseball

This was kind of touched upon in a previous thread on here:

Very few non-white kids play baseball, especially as kids get older and fever kids play. DC has been the only minority kid on his teams (~12 to 14 players) for three straight years since 5th grade. But when he started in tball there were many non-white kids.

Thank you for pointing out that this is an MLB-wide issue, not just with the Nats. To clarify, the issue is with black Americans playing baseball. There are a ton of blacks from the Caribbean, Central and South America in MLB.

I went to one game but it is so boring and slow. I took a book.

The AA women sitting behind me today at the game were totally into it. Commentary on each play. Plenty of advice for the players.

Yes, it's just cringe inducing to me to see the lack of diversity in the attendees. It should make everyone feel ashamed.

So does that mean we need to tell white people they need to go to more Wizards games and blacks that they must become fans of baseball and hockey? Maybe we need quotas for all sports fans. Or do packages - for every Nats game you must go to a Wizards game?

Whites invented all popular sports. Just like they invented every system of government , 99 percent of all modern machinery , systems , energy harnessing methods, agricultural methods, entertainment delivery systems, medical procedures /technology and drugs, transportation systems , education systems and information technology along with the Internet , microprocessor and smartphones.

Whites love football , hockey and baseball. The nba is the only major sport that whites are lukewarm to.
