Actually the private security firms provided no direct link whatsoever to Cozy Bear and Sleepy Bear or Yogi Bear or whatever they're called.

They simply opined that some of the indicators were consistent with those Russian hacking groups. I guess the notion that someone else could have used similar software didn't occur to these forensics guys.

You can see the evidence yourself. It has been publicized by three private companies that investigated the DNC hack.

I have posted the same information no fewer than five times on DCUM. This is easily obtainable information. Just google "how we know it was the russians".

But the burden of absolute proof is on our gov/Obama admin.

The hack wasn't just a technological hack. The Russians didn't even need to digitally access or manipulate individual voting machines. What they did was social engineering, to use digital media to manipulate voter sentiment. The Russians have tremendous expertise in this area, they have been world class experts in the covert propaganda business for 70+ years, they quite successfully did it in Crimea, Eastern Ukraine and several other places in recent years.

That's psyops or propaganda, not computer hacking. Two entirely different things. It seems to have worked well on the Democrat Party, since it's Democrats who are doing the most to try to undermine Trump's presidency. I don't really see the russians doing anything at all.

Now that I've read the report, it is completely useless and provides no information of value. The report urges network administrators to check their logs for certain IP addresses, but then doesn't provide any addresses. The report is basically a fancy graphic and a list of best practices. It does nothing to confirm the hackers were Russian.
