Siggi's does have a vanilla flavor, although it is a little on the tart side. Delicious, though. Maybe add some berries? |
My teen likes yogurt and I get him these brands because they have less sugar than most others.

My 18 month old eats Siggis vanilla. Or just plain with fruit added. I've been buying quark for Me and it really doesn't have a tart flavor.
Love yoosa but really it has as much sugar as a dessert. |
I'm so glad you clarified! This would have kept me up all night worrying about those poor kids. |
|
I'm diabetic so I get plain vanilla and add some sugar free preserves.
Hope you find something that works. |

"Plain vanilla" is very high in sugar, pp- do you mean that you get plain yogurt?
Where do you all find siggis vanilla? |
| Seven stars maple |
Siggis vanilla only has 8 grams of sugar ( which I suspect some of that is milk sugars). Other brands are upwards of 25+ grams. If you figure 4 grams is about a teaspoon of sugar - yuck some yogurt is so sweet. Another pp mentioned yogurt of the gods honey flavor, 33 grams of sugar there. You can buy Siggis at whole foods, wegmans and possibility trader joes. |
Check the ingredients carefully. I haven't checked yoplait, but the Oikos triple zero has Stevia, which they apparently don't classify as an artificial sweetener. In my opinion, this is deceptive -- many people consider Stevia to be an artificial sweetener. I personally would mix my own yogurt, rather than give my kids stevia. http://www.mayoclinic.org/healthy-lifestyle/nutrition-and-healthy-eating/expert-answers/stevia/faq-20057856 According to this May Clinic page: "The FDA hasn't approved whole-leaf stevia or crude stevia extracts for use as food additives because of concerns about possible health effects. In particular, the FDA has concerns about the effects of whole-leaf or crude stevia on blood sugar control, the kidneys, and the cardiovascular and reproductive systems." The effects of stevia are not well understood. It reminds me of how it has taken many years to lay out the scientific evidence of weight gain and worsening blood sugar control with articficial sweeteners. http://www.webmd.com/food-recipes/news/20130710/could-artificial-sweeteners-cause-weight-gain#1 Also, another poster recommended light and fit -- that definitely has artificial sweeteners. |
| Plain and add fruit |
+1. I had already clutched my pearls. |
| We sometimes but individual sweetened yogurts but mix them with plan - even 3:1 is pretty sweet |
Yes, definitely meant plain yogurt! My bad |
I'm the poster you quoted, thanks for this info! |
| I love my Dannon low-fat vanilla! |
