If you weigh between 120 to 130 pounds I have a question please

5'3, 125-128 lbs. I don't eat dairy, wheat, or sugar (except on very rare special occasions). Otherwise I eat whatever I want, but very clean. I don't eat anything out of a package really.

I exercise every day - either running, yoga, or walking.

I eat around 2000 calories a day and am fairly active (lots of walking to get places, but no gym or formal exercise).

I did it by sticking to 1200-1300 calories per day and tracking vigilantly. It didn't even take very long, about two months. Once I lost the weight I was able to relax a bit and eat more calories without gaining.

That is definitely encouraging. I'm thinking if I try to figure out the calories a person at my ideal weight weighs and stick to that I might lose something.
I'm frustrated because all my life I was somewhere between 120-128 (5'4) and after a stint (1-2yrs) of an antidepressant in college (not taking anymore) my weight went up by 15-20lbs and doesn't seem to budge.

120 5'7

I probably eat between 1200-1600 calories.

Lets see. Today:

260 for breakfast.
230 for lunch
220 for snack
250 for dinner
140 for snack

BUT I also eat a lot of fruit and veggies in between so that adds up. I've been sitting at my desk and I've already had an apple and a nectarine while I've been working.

I walk about a mile every day but that's it for exercise.

Anonymous wrote:Hi OP. At 5'3", I used to be able to maintain 125lbs easily, eating pretty much what I wanted. However, I've always been a relatively healthy eater with mostly veggies and protein and moderate drinking. Now at age 45 - sigh - I have to work hard everyday. I could consume 2,000 calories per day and burn it off without thinking about it and now I can only consume 1,200 calories. I do exercise less, but stay relatively active with various activities such as tennis, skiing, etc...

Ah, I may be in the same boat, I think my metabolism has really slowed down and just can't eat like I used too. Another bonus of the 40's maybe?

Are you under 40?

I am 5'3" and around 123. I feel most comfortable at 120 but I don't stress about it. I don't count calories. I eat mostly whatever I want. The only exercise I get is walking my dog each night for 20ish mins. My body shape has changed since then had a baby. My hips are wider and fatter and my stomach is a bit chubbier.

PP here. I turned 40 last year and I am getting creakier every year. It takes me longer to get out of bed. My back hurts more. I do need a breast reduction to help with back and neck issues.

This is exactly like me. No wheat, dairy, sugar, or packaged foods. My whole family went paleo and lost and maintained weight.

47 years old. I use to weight in at 125 as my happy weight, exercise 3-5 days a week, running, strength etc but never watched what I ate. Not a crazy bad diet but I didn't count calories or portion size. I turned 45, had some major injuries that limited my exercise options and slowly but steadily have gained weight. I'm now up to 140 -145 pounds. Because I'm limited on what I can do for exercise I have tried recording food intact, manage portion size etc. Its a very slow process and I'm lucky if I can lose 5 lbs. I've had a lot of tests recently to see if there are other issues at play but I'm beginning to think its age and not being able to exercise. I don't want to discourage but it can be a tough road. I'm back to really focusing on what goes in - and at least doing walking when I can but the amount of calories burned is still very low.

About 128 at 5'7''.

I don't exercise regularly. I do exercise walks on occasion, and I do not have a sedentary job so I suppose I am more active than a desk worker.

I eat a good balanced diet free of red meats and lots of junk food, but I do to eschew baked goods or sriracha mayo or onion rings. If I notice I've had a few too many days of salts and fats and sugars, I eat salads for a few days; my body has always craved balance.

If I eat 2 helpings at dinner, I feel uncomfortable. Which isn't to say I never do this, but I regret it.

If I do to McDonalds, I get a small chicken sandwich but not fries. Or vice versa. I never understood as a child why my mom and grandma didn't get fries - now I do.

I am 25, and it is clear to me that I will need to incorporate some exercise into my routine 4 days per week to combat an aging metabolism (getting a little spare flesh around the belly) and also to add strength to my body.

NP here. I basically want to do exactly this. I'm 5'4", are you a similar height? Did you exercise regularly too or was it all diet? Also, did you try to "eat clean" or just track calories? I really like a donut now and then, and I'm wondering if I can still do that as long as I stay in the calorie count. I've never dieted before (this is postpartum weight) and don't really know what I'm doing, obviously.

Sorry, how old are you? I'm 40 and wonder if this method will work for me. I've been carefully sticking to 1200 calories for 3 weeks now. How much should I be loosing by now? My exercise is minimal, walking and weights- very low key.
