What happened to your friend's brother is NOT okay. Police brutality, no matter the victim, is not okay and needs to end. Black people are just more vocal about the wrongs committed against us. |
|
Just more government corruption. But if our brother is the victim we suddenly care.
Perhaps we're getting what we deserve: the fatal consequences of rampant government corruption. It's coming to your neighborhood to, sooner or later. |
Could it possibly be because cops including black cops have been killed by said race more often and more often they see said race on their wanted list? |
The two recent shootings are sad. I'm a white make, Trump supporter and feel deep sorrow for what happened and what happens to young black men every day. The case in Minnesota is typically disturbing as the young gentleman killed was a licensed CCW holder and had told the cop he had his gun and was reaching for his wallet. What are they teaching cops? As someone who was a military policeman, I dealt with men/women who carried weapons a lot. You have to practice restraint. As a police officer you should always expect the person you're approaching might be armed. That doesn't mean you blast holes in them when they move. I have no answer for this, it's an issue that does need to be looked at. Black folks have been talking about this for decades. No one listened. Now we're seeing their reality through social media. Something should be done. |

Stuff like this makes you wonder why so much black violence |
Huh? I could post videos of a white guy raping an old lady. What would that prove? What is your point? |
Learn your history about cops and black people. A good place to start is the Jim Crow era. |
African Americans are about 30% of the people shot by police but commit 40-50% of violent crimes. They're getting shot at lower rates than you would expect based on the proportion of crime they commit. In addition the percentage of police shooting victims who are black has been trending down for the last 20-30 years even as their share of violent crime has stayed the same. The issue isn't that African Americans are disproportionately shot by police (numbers strongly suggest that they're not) but that police shoot WAY TOO MANY PEOPLE. The biggest issue (IMO) is the prevalence of guns in the US. If every person you come in contact with can easily get a gun (and often does) it would tend to make police much more afraid for their lives and more likely to use deadly force. |
So the only entity that has a monopoly in force should own all the weapons...great thinking. Besides, it's laughable to think that banning guns will stop the criminal from obtaining them. Drugs are illegal and I can get whatever drugs I want in a matter of hours and a couple of phone calls. |
|
The Police here in US is not to serve and protect. They are here to find criminals and if they can't find any, they make people up to be criminals. It almost seems like they get paid per criminal.
My 2 friends and I have all been arrested in US and we are white. We all got "no papered", but why even arrest us then! OP, I hope we don't know each other because I don't have patience for ignorant people like you. I left a country full of people like you behind. They don't know any better because most had never seen a black person before and they for sure don't know the history of the US, but you live here now and should know better. |
No, in a different world the police wouldn't own all the weapons. If we reduced the guns across the board, police wouldn't shoot suspects and suspects wouldn't shoot police. Can you imagine such a world? |
| Geesh, read a book OP. There are so many CREDIBLE answers to your question. |
no. it is because there are many racist cops and poor blacks are an easy target to fill your quota. And we have stupid laws. search court: Fairfax County for: 7/8/2016 and Complainant: TIMBERLAKE at https://eapps.courts.state.va.us/gdcourts/caseSearch.do 18 defendants. 17 for marijuana possession. 12 of the marijuana possession are BLACK. 70% of his marijuana arrests are BLACK. Officer TIMBERLAKE, T R this is reality for BLACKS in Fairfax County, tomorrow, friday in 2016 |
You should read an African history book, then come back. |
Meh, a better place to start would be history of Africa. A good place to start would be anywhere around Egyptian kingdom time (or slightly before that). |
