| Can you even offend white folks with racial jokes? |
| I think of a poor white southerner when I hear that. Personally, it doesn't offend me as I think of it more in those social-economic terms. Seems fairly antiquated in any case. |
| It's offensive when used as an insult. Obviously if you are actually talking about real crackers that you eat, no one takes offense. But if someone called me a cracker -- a term I never even heard until I was in my 20s and moved south to DC, by the way -- I would be horrified. I would never think to call anyone by a race-related slur and I would not expect it from others. Now if someone called me an asshole, that's different -- equal opportunity! |

Nope, not in the least.

I like
Cracka White Trash, not poor white trash White devil Trailer trash is okay Don't like honky but laugh when I see it on a tattoo Rarely offended but rarely hear the above terms. |
No. They are impervious to jokes like that. |
|
22:35 again. thinking about what would offend me and the word honky came to mind. Which also isn't a hugely powerful word in the scheme of things.
But I interpret it as more broadly applied. If someone called me a honky I'd give it more pause than cracker. |
| I am 47, have tons of black friends, and have never heard them use this word. So if they do, it's not in my presence, and therefore doesn't offend me. |
| No, because I'm not one. I am white though. Hell, I'll call my fellow whites crackers if they're ignorant and trashy. |
| No. It is a comical old word. It seems to be more upsetting to Southerners. If it upsets old Southerners then I love it! |
| You're talk about a Ritz, right... |
| Cracker is a phrase? |
+1. Name calling and slurs -- you really have to ask? |
So socioeconomic slurs are okay? How elitist of you... |
