Obama's birth certificate, how we know it exists and why you haven't seen it

He should just do tha before elecition day so independents van decide if its ok with them to have a foriegn President. It's so easy just to release it. But he must think it's damaging in some way. Sorry, he will need it in order to be on the ballow in numerous states. They are passing laws as we speak. FUN!

The independents don't care about this. Find me a birther who is an independent. It is the birther's delusion that independents are all in a tizzy about Obama's citizenship. he knows it, you know it.

you have to realize, even taking race completely off the table, for 95% of Americans it is pretty extreme to have a president whose father was born in Kenya (who had multiple wives at the same time) and who then spent his formative years in Indonesia. Not exactly what they were used to for the last 200 years. Back in the 60s and 70s those places were "exotic" and undeveloped. We don't like to use the term "third world" anymore, but to the extent we can use it then it certainly fits here.

Doesn't excuse the birthers, but I think extra scrutiny of the credentials and a higher level of suspicion should be expected.

agreed, which is why Obama could have made clear that the long-form was not available for X reason. Because he has not done that, either (i) the long-form IS available but Obama does not want to disclose it for whatever private reason, or (ii) the long-form is not available and Obama refuses to comment on it because he thinks the attention given the birthers helps him politically by weakening the Republican candidate amongst independents.

Pu-leeze. Bill Clinton father had more children around the country or world than we'll ever know AND he was a drunk who died in a ditch. And his Dad's "hijinks" are only known to this degree because of intense modern day sleuthing. Back in the 18th and 19th centuries, who knew how many wives or second families any man's father had--look at Thomas Jefferson to name one glaring example. Hell, California was exotic to 18th Century people. You can't take race off the table because it's all about race, really. The haters can't stomach this independent thinking Black President.
