I have a relative who is lost to a different crazy sentiment and she’s gonna live another decade as she is healthy and ill have to endure her

Collectively, these bozos elected someone who will kill hundreds of thousands of people over the coming years because of the rapid dismantling of USAID. They have also condemned a hundred innocent Venezuelan men to an early death by torture in CECOT, the El Savador prison to which Noem sent them, on Miller's orders. They are also responsible for dozens, if not hundreds, of other mis-documented foreigners sent to third world countries that they have no ties to, and no common language with. Then there are all the thousands of innocent children, innocent women and innocent men in horrific ICE detention situations, where allegations of sexual and physical abuse and medical neglect are piling up - including at least one alleged murder by strangulation by detention officers. Some of these victims want to be deported but are stuck in the system because these are private prisons who turn a profit from each detainee - they are milking the government and enriching the pockets of predatory prison CEOs. Some of these detainees are US citizens, whose birth certificates or other documentation are under scrutiny and who are accused of lying and fabricating false papers.

Life is too short to support the CRIMINALS who voted for this.

OP, you are accusing your parents of intolerance when it is pretty clear you are capable of intolerance yourself.

I have plenty of political divides in my family. We still get along as we know there's more to life than politics. Is it annoying? Sure. But I always remind myself my beliefs are as annoying and frustrating to others as their beliefs are annoying and frustrating to me.

Walking away from them and cutting off contact is something that, according to the studies I've seen, is done far more by left leaning people than right leaning people (note how it's not your parents threatening to walk away from you). It bothers me this seems to be the case. My advice is don't. Put aside your political feelings, treat them as they seem to treat you, which is a family member with wonky views and just focus on other things.

OP here. What am I supposed to say, "I see your point that you want your kids and grandkids to suffer financially to support the great grift/graft master. I respect your desire to watch me and my husband lose our house for Trump. And maybe you're correct, after all, and I should be willing to starve for him (I guess they are, too?)." Is that what I should say?

Another one who’s right there with you, OP. We just don’t talk about politics anymore, but the elephant in the room is so big, the tension comes out in a dozen other ways. And if I ever call them out on rude, offensive things they say, they just turn it around and say “well, who’s judgmental now?!!” It’s so pathetic it’s almost comical. It makes me sad to see them finish out their time on earth like this.

If a fired government employee doesn’t have the skills or capability to get hired by another company, Id rather not pay them to use those same non-skills for government wages. What a waste of taxes and budget allocation.

That's real tough love toward your fired fed kids. They will have time to reflect that if you can't live independently, wipe your butt, or remember the way hime when you are old, they would rather not spend any of their time or money or society 's resources on that.
