Which is why we sent out kid to Oxbridge

I agree. There are quite some sane options out there.

If you want a meritocratic admissions system, move to China or the UK.

This is an example of just how how stupid people. Chinas system is massively affected by wealth with few from poor areas able to attend the better universities. In the UK they give large preferences to kids from public schools because otherwise all of the spots at top schools would be filled by private school kids. Thanks for highlighting your ignorance.

Wow, I guess some of you guys just went on full tilt when your DC’s SCEA/REA/ED results didn’t pan out. Me thinks your “best and brightest” will end up just fine, Asian Nova mom.

Is MIT/Caltech not educating the best and the brightest by all traditional standards, including those of India/China/UK?

Who are the best and brightest who you think are not being educated?

When the trust is gone, the system collapse. Doesn't matter where.

Starting off this rant about others' stupidity with a childish grammar error is comical.

Everyone needs a hobby.

The best and brightest can use the amazing opportunities available at a large number of schools to pursue their passions.

They don't have to end up at the perfect school, marry the very best person, or get the job of their dreams to still be successful.
