Dartmouth ED is a much more difficult admit than people realize - its high ED rate is deceiving.

Not at our school. 3 in for Dartmouth, following last year's 4. Dartmouth is a much easier admit than peers.

What high school?

West coast private.

Geographical diversity picks which is why the oos posters’ experiences is meaningless here.

You think Dartmouth struggles to get students from California? Get real. The Bay Area is one of the most competitive places to apply to college across the country.

HW doesn’t get that many to Dartmouth. More to Harvard.

DMV independent school, with a graduating class size of 80-90. Let’s leave it at that.

Right. Which is why DCUM has really stopped being useful. Getting 4 into Dartmouth from a private around here would be ground breaking. But of course you didn't post outright that you're from across the country. 🤷😡

I posted the above about the ED acceptances last year. Local DMV school. Not sure why another poster came in with the west coast private answer!

+1, only one kid last year to Dartmouth, probably Bay Area- Nueva, Menlo, Sacred Heart, Harker

They responded to your comment. Seems pretty obvious why.

Someone asked “Which school?” and another poster (not me) responded (incorrectly) that it was a west coast school. The school in question is a local DMV school, not a west coast one.

California residency is not a hook for Dartmouth. It’s the most populated state in the country with highly educated pockets.

Potomac class of 2024 sent 4 students to Dartmouth.

Potomac does not have 3 in at Dartmouth. So they either are guessing or lying.
