Really disappointed in the lack of conversation about the antisemetic attack in Australia

What is there to talk about? Anti-semitism is atrocious. People with guns who kill people are evil. I feel like these events are more and more common. I mean, look at Brown U. I’ve been on this planet 53 years and sometimes there’s nothing to say but F This.

There is always less about things happening outside the US. Also, I don’t have TikTok or Instagram, rarely post on FB and nothing controversial. Just occasional kid updates.

Exactly. Every mass shooting is horrible. Why don’t we have more conversation about mass shootings on campuses? Or movie theaters?

I bet 15 people were gunned down somewhere else in the world today, probably in several places, but it doesn’t make news. My point is that yes, what happened in Australia was atrocious and antisemitism is atrocious but lots of bad things happen every day all over the world.

This is a US website. We have a shooting like that almost monthly. And we had our own yesterday too.

Who were the shooters in this attack? All I'm seeing is that they were a father and son, which in itself is horrifying.

I don't use tik tok but I haven't posted anything on my social media. These tragedies are too common and stay overwhelming. I don't know how posting helps.

I just came from a Chanukah menorah lighting event and there were dozens of police standing around us including police standing on the roof of the shopping center it was held at. Very sad and of course the terrorist attack on Bondi Beach was discussed. Kids were given balloon animals and one popped during a speech and some people freaked out thinking it was something else. It’s a thought time to be a Jew right now.

We have monthly shootings at Jewish holidays?

A tough time indeed. But sadly, very few people care.

We care about ALL people.

These comments are pretty telling. I guess no one should check the news because if it's not happening at their house, doesn't matter.
Here is a link to gofundme related to the incident. Do you see anything at all about Jews, Hannukah, antisemitism? Me either.

Don't use TikTok as your barometer.

Nobody thinks this attack was okay, except neo Nazi, hate filled losers. And don't waste your time thinking about them and their reactions.

This weekend was filled with awful news. Personally, I'm a VT grad and knew several people who were killed in that shooting so the Brown shooting was more forefront on my mind.

The Australian shooting was horrific and I am so sorry for all the victims.

There's a difference between staying aware of current events, and indulging in the tragedy porn slop that's on a loop on cable and the internet. I don't need to know the motives of someone who would attack a religious ceremony. They are obviously demons. I don't need a commentator to talk to me about the broader significance. The significance is that there is evil in this world. The best thing we can do is to continue to carry the light of God through prayer and action.

It’s sad. I condemn it.
I don’t think the President made a big statement about it either
