Political Discussion
| Browsing TikTok and barely anything on this shooting. Why? Is this really the sentiment of people that this was okay? Sigh. |
| I’m seeing plenty, tik tok has become weird once portions were sold to American companies and it has became even more siloed by topic than it was before. |
| Don’t ask us. Your TikTok algorithm is your own fault. |

I don’t use Tik Tok. It’s all over the news and Facebook and I see many lamentations.
I especially lament the horrific genocidal policies and actions of the Netanyahu government which have turned hearts around the world against all Jews, when they should only be angry at right wing Zionism. And of course terrorism is never the answer, but undoubtedly the government strongmen will respond to this in ways that turn more hearts to despair and terrorism. |
| There was a thread on this forum. You can view it but it has now been locked for further comments. More than likely after conspiracy theories or "stupid" was posted on it. Australians are really shaken. And it's wasn't just about being an Australian. It affects everyone in one way or another. |
| I don’t have TikTok but FWIW this and Brown were the lead stories on the NBC national news. |
And it’s affecting the global diaspora of the Jewish people. This was targeted. That’s the part that feels missing right now…. |
Move on to threads unless you want to learn a dance about a current event. |
Everyone with common sense knows that antisemitic terror atracks anywhere are meant to terrify Jews everywhere. Duh. Everyone is talking about it as targeted antisemitism. If you’re missing that your ears and eyes are closed somehow. Maybe by your own bias? |
| The unarmed passerby who charged one of the gunman and wrestled his semi-automatic rifle away from him is a Middle Easterner, named Ahmed Al Ahmed. RESPECT! |
|
I'm not Australian.
I'm not jewish. |
Honestly this is really frustrating to hear. There was so much coverage today. I watched cable news and it was all day. It is the lead story of the NY Times. |
| People aren't meant to process every tragedy in the entire world. Many people, including me, purposely limit our exposure to this kind of material. I am deeply concerned about the rise of antisemitism but I don't need to consume every atrocity to be concerned or aware. |
Totally! He was a Lebanese fruit stand vendor. He is truly a hero. |
But I'll bet you're Republican.
