I am NOT trying to make excuses or justify maga. I am still disgusted, disappointed, and confused by their loyalty to Trump. But it did give me a slightly different perspective.

If you found somebody who could do all of that and was a felon, rapist and grifter…

You almost got it. Anti-abortion was a niche Catholic idea until republicans created it as a wedge issue and ran a campaign to brainwash a generation of scientifically illiterate people to believe abortion is murder, so they would turn off their brains completely regarding every other issue. It was a scam from the start.

The article describes a people who obey the law, cherish and uphold family traditions and values, and who don’t want to put up with bs from lawless, “black sheep of the family” types who cause chaos and trouble.

Much of MAGA stems from this:

When you understand this you will understand MAGA: we love God AND our country. The Democratic party is home base for atheists, queers (black sheep), and communists. MAGA is diametrically opposed to these types of people, hence the divide in our nation: sheep vs goats, God-fearing vs godless: righteous vs unrighteous.

This is not to say MAGA is perfect, for we are human, only that The Bible is our absolute and final authority concerning human origins, proper sexual behavior, and moral conduct.

I will pre-empt those who will say, “Trump did this….said that…”.

Individual candidates do not define a political party’s platform, so sayeth I.

There are certainly candidates who act like Democrats (I always thought Trump a Democrat for the Miss America sleazefest he oversaw), and there are greedy and immoral politicians but on the whole, the R platform is a force for good and best for America.

This isn't true though. They don't actually believe these things. This isn't about saving babies, because infant mortality RISES when you ban abortion care. And if they cared about babies, that care wouldn't cease the moment they exit the womb. They'd be fighting for affordable healthcare so having a baby doesn't cost thousands of dollars. They'd be fighting for paid parental leave so babies aren't thrust into daycare mere weeks after their birth. If they cared about babies, they'd be fighting for gun control so they stop getting murdered in their classrooms. And on and on.

There is no moral consistency to their beliefs. This is not about saving babies. Stop trying to redeem these despicable people. It's about hate and control. That's it.

So, to be clear, you are anti-healthcare and you believe God will take care of your health? So you don’t want healthcare for you or your children? Because that is exactly what you voted for. You voted for more children to die from disease and malnutrition.
Fine- then don’t enter any more hospitals or medical clinics.

I think you might want ti read your Bible a little more carefully. Because loving society's outcasts was Jesus' whole thing. You can't love God, and country, and your family when you reject the very people God instructed you to love, whose laws our country made equal and whose freedoms they meant to protect, people who ARE in fact your family or your neighbors or your community members.

You can love your GOD here, no problems/no issues. But dont make me follow your GOD. Do you even acknowledge the founding of our nation? Like our founding fathers KNEW about Judaism, paganism, Islam...they actually meant religious freedom. Not just for Christians.

Also, anyone who touts religion and norms is a hypocrite if they voted for Trump. Truly.

Single issue voters (abortion) were the only way I could understand how Trump won the first time. It devolved to racists having someone on their side. For his second win, his campaign hammered the transgender issue during the final days.
