Now THAT looks likes an age-appropriate text message. |
Politicians just know they’re easy to manipulate when they spin everything as religion. Too many Christians don’t realize they’re being used by conmen. Most religions don’t exactly teach people to question authority or think critically. Jesuits and Episcopalians are exceptions. |
"Religious people" is extremely overbroad in this context. There is a reason Reagan targeted evangelicals and not "all Christians" or Jews or Buddhists. |
Probably, because even half of Catholics are politically pro choice believing strongly in separation of Church and state. |
DP: You lose credibility and the argument when you go full bigotry like that. |
Don't forget turning the other cheek when someone wrongs you. |
Sacrilege! Seriously, you are in deep. |
Amen. |
Its a wafer. That's it. To expect others to see more is the problem |
I know you are trying to be kind in not targeting all Christians but as a Christian myself, I suggest you view all of us critically. I can take it. It is better to protect yourself. Too many people are cloaking themselves in this ways that run counter to the actual teachings of Christ, and sadly not Christians have a backbone to call them on it or they ha e no proper news sources. Either way, they are a potential danger |
I’m just debating the “science” here. Carbs don’t become a dead guy. DNA analysis proved it. And 6-week embryos don’t have “souls”, and don’t really have brains, either. |
Jesuits teach the same as most others Catholic Orders, such as Holy Cross, Benedictines, La Sallian, Christian Brothers, Franciscans, Cistercians, Little Sisters of the Poor, Sisters of Mercy, etc. My Catholic schools and my kids' Catholic schools were not Jesuit, but absolutely taught critical thinking, questioning authority, examining the basis of your faith, following your conscience. The Jesuits are not alone. |
Those three traits cover about 99% of humanity… |
Nobody expects others to see more. That does not excuse your bigotry about someone else's religion, not morally and not politically. |
Casting the sins of a few on the many is a huge danger. It's the foundation of discrimination. |
