I'm so sorry, that is the worst. My best friend from college is a huge Glenn Beck/SP lover and I have a hard enough time with that...I don't know if I could handle it being in the family! |
Thanks PP! We are opposites in every meaning of the word! She makes me want to scream-LOUDLY! hehe |
I seriously judge people who are SP fans. It's one thing if you are uneducated and live in the podunks, but when people have gone to college, grad school, law school, etc., then I think they are borderline manic schizos. I think they're also racist f*ckers |
People judge about all things all the time. It's one thing to draw a judgment based on your values and another to be judgmental, imo. |
I have a few "friends" on Facebook from college and high school -- supposedly intelligent people -- who "Like" SP. I'm like WTF! Totally floored. |
Boy!! SP and GB must really scare you guys, otherwise you wouldn't be wasting your breath or your time even bothering to post a reply.
Very telling of what's to come...and I can't wait! |
but guys...seriously....why is she a piece of shit? i just want to understand... |
If we were in high school, we woudn't be worried about issues like what kind of hateful, ignorant jackass is dominating the airwaves and creating the harmful divisive opinions that so many Americans now hold. (1 in 5 Americans believe Obama is a Muslim! Worse, many more than that would have a problem with a Muslim president.) No, high schoolers would be spending their internet time judging other women on the state of their toenails. Oh, wait... |
Because she creates or encourages artificial and harmful divides within our society. All this "real America" stuff is not good for us. Identifying with Sarah Palin means demonizing those who are more educated, affluent, and otherwise different. She is popularizing a bigoted view of the world, bringing xenophobic views out of the closet and making them socially acceptable. Frankly, there are some opinions that people SHOULD be ashamed of, and she holds quite a few of them. She tells people it's ok to be suspicious of someone based on their appearance or religion. We were supposed to have moved past that, but she and her ilk are dragging us back. |
What exactly has she done that's worthy of such hero-worship? That's what I want to understand. |
Well said. And yes, I do negatively judge people who are fans/supporters of Sarah Palin. I find it shocking when I learn that someone supports her. I don't feel this way about most other Republican candidates/politicians, of course. But she's in a (low) class of her own. |
I agree and I must admit I do judge. She is pretty though! |
You judge someone because they like her and you are even worse! Would you say a man was good looking? No, you would not. |
Same here, her views don't make sense in this world where everyone tries to get over racism and hate. We should try to unite but she is far from that.
For her view of politics she's about 60 years too late...but then again, I'm sure enough americans would be stupid enough to vote her into office (as we've seen with Bush). |
My sister was a liberal-oh, let me stop bullshitting-my sister was whatever the man she was with was. It's one thing to suddenly love football after having no interest for twenty years, it's another thing to be on the Amazon waitlist for the Palin biography because late in life she married a controlling conservative. I respect her, her husband and my niece (well, I love my niece and my sister more than anything) but it is very hard not to judge when I hear her husband who lives in a lovely home with all the standard amenities, has every new electronic device the minute it debuts, goes out to a nice restaurant every Saturday night unless there's a Skins game (they have season tickets), complain endlessly about higher taxes and liken Obama to the devil himself. Do I wish they were, well, deeper for lack of a better term?-of course. But unless I'm discussing politics with him alone, I keep my opinions to myself. It was really hard this past weekend when my sis told me how her husband sent his ordered rare filet back at the Palm because it wasn't warm on the inside-he does this at every place including BLT Steakhouse. Yes, of course I judge. But I try really really hard to keep my mouth shut most of the time. And they put up with me because I'm not always successful in this endeavor. |
