I30–I’m currently 138 (which is fine and healthy) but want to get back down. |
I'm 5'6" and tend to be thin, but ice fluctuated between 120 and 130 for the last 25 years (excepting pregnancies).
I'm most comfortable at 125 and feel a little thin at 120, but I suspect my husband likes me at 130. |
Yes! You can’t just look at a number and have that as the be all end all. I have pics of myself at 150 before I started weight training and pics of myself at 150 after weight training. The difference is night and day, and anyone looking at the pics would assume the fit one weighed 20lbs less. |
It’s kind of crazy that you acknowledge what a “healthy” weight is at your height but are taking drugs to go even below that. |
Not to hijack the thread but I had a similar question but for a height of 5’9. Well I’m probably 5’8.5 at this point. |
I think the five pounds-per-inch rule is actually pretty good once you hit menopause.
I'm 5'5" and was always around 115. After menopause, I'm closer to 125. I hate it. I would love to have my old body back, but it seems absolutely unsustainable at this point. I'm working on little fixes to my diet to maybe get back to 120. |
I think the taller you are, the more wiggle room there is or the wider the range is. These #s aren’t taking into account how heavy breasts can be. Two people can be the same height, same waist and hip size, but weigh 20lbs different if one is Acup and one is Ecup. |
5’6 and I’ve been all over the scale. Even at times when I’ve been the same weight, if I exercised or not made a difference in how I looked. I was 125 a few weeks back, with no exercise, and I looked scrawny. I’m currently 130 and mostly like how I look. |
I am an ectomorph, 5’6 and at 44 my ideal weight is 110-115 |
people who live in the blue zone with longest life span are little underweight. these countries don't have strength training culture either. something to think about. |
when I was 5'2'' and 115 I had to find size 00 pants, lived off Lululemon size 2. can't imagine how you will struggle as a 5'6''. |
I hear you. I get what you mean you say that these folks don't "look particularly great." But they look better than most American women in their 50s who are obese or overweight. |
That’s because they move their bodies every day. They are not sitting in their cars to drive to the office to sit, and then get back in their cars to drive home. |
No, but they take the stairs. They climb hills. They do their own house and yardwork. They carry their groceries for blocks if not miles. Strength training and exercise is just naturally built into their daily living habits. |
They are each unappealing it their own ways. |
