I once read that a healthy weight is 100 lbs plus five pounds for every inch you are over five feet. So, 5’6 is 130.

I’m 5’7 and currently 124 after taking a GLP-1 to lose 21 lbs. Everything fits so nicely now, belly is almost flat (three kids so I don’t know that I’ll ever get ride of the little pooch) legs look slim. So I think 5-10 lbs under that old rule I read is perfection.

It’s kind of crazy that you acknowledge what a “healthy” weight is at your height but are taking drugs to go even below that.

people who live in the blue zone with longest life span are little underweight.
these countries don't have strength training culture either.
something to think about.

No, but they take the stairs. They climb hills. They do their own house and yardwork. They carry their groceries for blocks if not miles. Strength training and exercise is just naturally built into their daily living habits.

Here if a woman is grocery shopping and carrying stuff home she is a loser for not working in an office as lawyer/data scientist.

It’s not about the job, it’s how close you live to the grocery store. /lawyer.

People who go to offices can't shop for their own groceries or they'll implode? That's a new one.

Assuming female?

Ectomorph body = 95-125lbs low to mid bodyfat %
Mesomorph body = 110-150lbs low to mid bodyfat %
Endomorph body = 125-160lbs higher bodyfat %

I am an ectomorph, 5’6 and at 44 my ideal weight is 110-115

when I was 5'2'' and 115 I had to find size 00 pants, lived off Lululemon size 2.
can't imagine how you will struggle as a 5'6''.

Strange. That’s my current weight (113 this morning) and I don’t struggle at all. Some of my pants are a size 0 but most are size 2 or 4. I am European and a lot of my clothes are from my home country and I am not even in smallest size there. Every body is different I guess. When I was 105 pounds I was a 00.

5’8 and my weight hovers btw 132-135. Pretty happy with that though in my mid 30s I was more like 125-128, and liked that better. Early 40s now, and I’ll never be in the 120s again unless I want to eat very little.

I think at 5’6” 125-140 would be ideal range.

Some of these answers are wild. I’m 5’5” 125 (41) and I think I look pretty good. I actually get a lot of comments about my thinness. I have a small frame and am pretty athletic. However, if I get closer to 120 yes I do look too thin. I cannot imagine even small framed individual saying being 115 at 5’6” is a good look on a middle aged woman.

I think the taller you are, the more wiggle room there is or the wider the range is. These #s aren’t taking into account how heavy breasts can be. Two people can be the same height, same waist and hip size, but weigh 20lbs different if one is Acup and one is Ecup.

Yeah, thats' the problem. I have smallish bone structure but bra size is 34F or so. Hard to know what # I should be aiming for, so maybe just clothing fit, etc? Right now I'm at 150 and trying to get to 145, but don't know if that should be the "final" goal.

When I was 120 from an illness, people made so many comments - some that I was too thin in a judgmental way and for the women who worship at the altar of skinny- they told me I looked “great.”

However, for me, especially since I have a large bust, 130-140 is where I look best. Just wish my stomach was flatter and didn’t have tiger stripes, but that’s to be expected after having kids.

I am 34F as well and fluctuate between 135-140. I was 152 at my heaviest and even going down to 145 made a difference! I’m happiest at 135 but fine with 140.

I think it is hard for people to understand the reality of other people's body. At 130 I have a double chin (i am not inventing this). But i really have a different frame, if you think of ethiopian/Kenyan's very narrow runner bodies and bone structure, that's a bit what i look like.

I wear kid size hats and my knees are almost half the width of my thin athletic Northern european stock friends. We sat down a couple days ago and just noticed that. No weight gain would change that.

So yes i look better at 115 and 5'6" but that's just me. I do not think the average woman looks good at that weight.
