| This is a common problem, from military down to kid school stuff, because many award systems don't publish their awards in a verifiable and searchable way. |
He was told it was approved. Clearly you never worked for the giver. I got a pin once 5 years after I earned it |
| Govt not giver |
It was approved but not processed. |
You sound fully successful. |
| I'm not sure I buy the story Wes is selling, but it's the best spin he could have on this given the circumstances. So I respect the political maneuvering even if I don't believe it. |
| Most soldiers wouldn’t claim that award until it was pinned on their uniform. It’s pretty rarified air. |
| He should have explained that the award hadn’t been finalized yet in his application. But he was in his 20s and I doubt that he had a lot of familiarity with the process so he trusted what his leadership told him. This isn’t a big deal. |
Yes. There are actually a lot of factual errors in his book. Which is annoying, if only because it shows his editor sucked. The talk about his bronze star was discussed during his election. Not sure why folks are shocked now. |
Except he has a boy of history embellishing his background, just like Midshipman Joe and Command Sergeant Major Tim. |
+1 I thought I didn't get a credential on my degree, but it turned out I did. I didn't know for years, until the school alum directory included me as having that credential. With big bureaucratic entities, it's very normal that people have a different understanding of what actually is in "the system." It isn't like Wes Moore has a pattern of lying about absolutely everything. Give him a bit of grace. |
| I read the story, and the general backing him up. It sounds like he put it on an application thinking he would get it by the time the hiring process finished, and his mentor told him to. He shouldn’t have done it, but also in the grand scheme of things I definitely don’t care. And it’s good that he apologized. |
| He will get a pass since there is a "D" by his name. Just like all the others did |
|
I mean he is obviously lying.
I hate liars, and he seems to do it easily. Previously he lied about being a good friend of the other wes moore. the bronze star and the other wes moore are the key parts of his origin story. I dont like it. Im just glad we found out now. On gwen iffils show she introduces him and it is literally the only fun fact she gives (when he had several things she could have used). He obviously thought the honor was special enough to focus on further people have brought this up repeatedly and his answer was he never said it. Totally called this as nothing he does seems authentic. I know his cohort crew - they all wrote a book, lie & overexaggerate, have no historical knowledge of politica, are phonies. He brings nothing to the to table that even makes you want to overlook it. esp w shapiro, kamala, gavin, pete, gretchen and the many others. This is way worse than clinton/monia L imo and on par with Santos except Santos' bio lies werent central to his story. |
You really believe that? Why not say this when asked directly about it by reporters over the years? nstead he said he never said it. I kinda care that he keeps lying. It's weird and shows his true character of lying to get ahead. If he was some great legislator, not caring starts to be reasonable. Im not calling for a resignation but if Im a party leader im looking elsewhere when time for a new senator/pres etc His apology was also stupidly indignant, just the sort of attitude that will make the nyt want to dig deeper. Bet there will be more of these lies uncovered. |
