Wes Moore claims it was an “honest mistake” when claiming he won award

How is he amazing?

I just don’t get this Wes Moore thing. Hardly any political experience, caught lying several times, nothing to show for his governorship. Why is he seen as this great thing? There were plenty of other worthy Dems.

The Times talked to the superior officer, Michael Fenzel, now a lieutenant general, who said he told Moore he'd been approved for the medal and advised him: "You've got to include it ... If you are selected as a White House fellow, you're going to be wearing it whenever you're wearing your uniform."

+1 I thought I didn't get a credential on my degree, but it turned out I did. I didn't know for years, until the school alum directory included me as having that credential. With big bureaucratic entities, it's very normal that people have a different understanding of what actually is in "the system." It isn't like Wes Moore has a pattern of lying about absolutely everything. Give him a bit of grace.

Hunh? if it was on the app and no where else this could maybe work? But he was clearly obssessed with this honor for a period of time 2006 -2009 and defined himself by it. I find it hard to believe you could be mistaken about receiving an honor that you are obssessed with, then say you never said you got it for years and now say actually what happened is that you thought you got it but didnt.

If you think the Bronze Star is a “trinket” you should sign up and try to go earn one.

He knew his statement was false when made. He truthfully could have said “recommended” or “nominated,” but he chose not to.

It was approved but not processed.

this is incorrect

it was pretty good except making his mentor to lie too. his friends trying to get into politics (who know nothing about political issues and therefore are constantly flip flopping) lie about their previous statements all the time. good guys generally but very annoying, very fake.

it wont be the last one. bet

i found the tone of the apology childish and think it may have a barry bonds-lance armstrong effect where being an as$ results in reporters wanting to take you down when you would have gotten off

That doesn't sound believable. People don't accidentally put a military bronze star on their resume. It either indicates that he is dishonest and lied to get a Whitehouse fellowship or he is incredibly stupid and believed he had a bronze star when he did not. Either one is disqualifying for someone that is governor of a state he should resign.

He was told it was approved. Clearly you never worked for the giver.

I got a pin once 5 years after I earned it

You sound fully successful.

Jesus. Trump lies his ass off. No argument there. But Moore and Walz are the absolute worst to lie about combat experience for political gain. Both should be dumped.

Why do you feel the need to verify these things like this? What a bizarre mindset.

Waltz is NOT a COMBAT veteran. He QUIT right when the possibility of combat came up so he never handled weapons on a battlefield because he was never on one.

Why don’t people get it? We elect narcissistic people to office. Narcissists lie, regardless of party. We are the ones who reward narcissists

They all lie. Most of them are lying about their sexuality and degenerate and perverted extracurriculars too. Probably because they're being blackmailed, but also, because to be a good politician requires being a good, seasoned liar. These con artists have a lot of practice, so it becomes as natural as breathing.
