On claiming he got a bronze star.
https://www.axios.com/2024/08/30/maryland-gov-wes-moore-regrets-honest-mistake-on-bronze-star |
| He must have gotten a heads up about stories coming out because he released a statement yesterday before the stories were out |
|
It was clerical error.
His boss signed the paperwork and it was all approved but not processed. They resubmitted the paperwork |
That is not correct. |
|
This is the key quote from his then superior officer.
The Times talked to the superior officer, Michael Fenzel, now a lieutenant general, who said he told Moore he'd been approved for the medal and advised him: "You've got to include it ... If you are selected as a White House fellow, you're going to be wearing it whenever you're wearing your uniform." |
| This is a nothing burger. |
That doesn't sound believable. People don't accidentally put a military bronze star on their resume. It either indicates that he is dishonest and lied to get a Whitehouse fellowship or he is incredibly stupid and believed he had a bronze star when he did not. Either one is disqualifying for someone that is governor of a state he should resign. |
|
Probably just a honest mistake. He did it one time and based on advice of his superior officer.
|
The superior officer who submitted the paperwork. He never subsequently repeated it. This seems like a lot of nothing from the party that brought you swiftboating |
| On Colbert he was asked if he won the bronze star and he says yes and nodded |
| Didn't he also lie about growing up on the mean streets of Baltimore? |
That's the NYTs spin though...sorta... |
| Who cares? The military is dumb anyway. So he misspoke about some trinket. I don’t care. He’s amazing. |
If you think the Bronze Star is a “trinket” you should sign up and try to go earn one. He knew his statement was false when made. He truthfully could have said “recommended” or “nominated,” but he chose not to. |
Wow. This comment says a lot about you. A whole lot. |
