Do you have Amazon prime? I got mine off Amazon for $4 with 2 day delivery. |
Hah, I posted about no one referencing weight anymore in the paper towel thread!
I'm guessing you may be similar to me, in that your clothes were too small for your previous body. I just hate shopping and hadn't been in a long time. I am down 45 lbs from my HW and definitely still wearing some of the same clothing, even though now they are getting baggy. You are doing great! I 100% agree with measurements. Buy a cheapie tape measure right now on amazon, it'll be at your home tomorrow and you can start tracking. Maybe start taking pictures too! Just put them in a hidden folder on your phone, dont obsess and dont nitpick, just take a pic every week and add it to the folder. Maybe after a month you can go in and check out the before/after! It's hard to see the weight loss every day, but the before/after pics make it so much more obvious. |
Read the post here called "paper towel effect" ! |
^^it will explain how visual effects kick in |
Op, this is funny as I was just thinking about how I’ve lost 32 lb and have not dropped a size. The current size definitely looks better on me but still discouraging! |
OP you are doing awesome, keep it up!
Get a tape measure as others suggested. Write down the other victories. Do you feel better? Sleep better? Walk faster? If you were stretching out your t-shirts with your knees, you were in the wrong size. So you have dropped a size. 40 lbs down is no small accomplishment. Keep going! |
That’s a huge loss! I’m so impressed!! Don’t get discouraged, this is absolutely worth the journey. You’re still on the journey. You’ll always be on the journey. Treat yourself to a massage or pedicure to thank yourself for the hard work. You have more to go, but you’re treating yourself better than ever. You deserve it. |
100% support the tape measure. The clothing size will change eventually, but the loss of inches is very exciting! |
I finally noticed a difference when a friend was down 100 pounds. |
You got this!! Congrats! Awesome achievement!!! |
This. XXL is not 2x. The cut is completely different, and for those of us with boobs/bellies, it really does matter. Look at a size chart for whatever brand of shirt you were trying on, and note the differences. If you could get an XXL to look the way your 2x usually looks, it's because you lost weight! I'd suggest having some non-scale goals while you're working on "onederland" (if that's your aim). How's your mobility? Can you walk longer distances than when you started? Do you need fewer breaks? When I started losing weight (again), i noticed how much easier it was to breathe because my cardio health was improving much faster than my scale numbers were dropping. If it's just about the numbers, you'll be depressed. Look for the other wins and congratulate yourself on what you've accomplished so far. Then, keep going. One day at a time! |
Ugh, I’m sorry. It is so frustrating. Yeah, I’d need to lose 50lbs or so to go down a size from my stretchy 2x. It’s disheartening. |
Then don’t use a tape measure. Use string or ribbon. You can write the date and body part on the ribbon. When ever you’re feeling down you can pull out the waist ribbon from 20 pounds ago for motivation to keep going. It’s better not to have numbers. You will definitely see progress. |
I can confirm that, I lost several inches and zero pounds. It was only through working out. I'm not gaining any visible muscle or lifting weights, very odd. |
We are all different. Not OP, but 5’7” and 220, and I’m an 18. |
