How old are you? I could make this happen in my 30's/early 40's but now at almost 50, nope. |
People on these drugs still have to eat less and move more to lose the weight. Don’t be an $ss. |
Download an app like LoseIt or MyFitnessPal. Download HappyScale. Sign up for Noom or WeightWatchers. Get a fitness watch like a Fitbit or Garmin (not Apple Watch unless it's what you really want). Start with this meal, now. I usually lose 1 pound a week when I want to, but it's a lot of work. I think 1.5 pounds will be pretty tough, but doable. But you have to start right now and tracking your food will help. You've got this! |
Strict Keto will do it, and you won’t even be hungry. Throw in IF and you’re golden. |
You don't need nasty diet food or shots that will likely kill you.
Humans only need to eat twice a day with a snack in between. All eating should be done by 6 pm. Your first meal, your biggest meal, should be sometime after noon. Next meal about 5 pm. This one should be light but filling. Coffee, tea for breakfast. In between that time is a snack. Fruit or yogurt. I ate graham crackers and water. "graham crackers are made from whole wheat flour, which contains more fiber and nutrients than refined flour. This can help you feel fuller for longer and reduce cravings. Plus, they are also usually low in fat and sugar compared to other snacks." There are gluten free graham crackers. Only drink water and lemonade. Both fill you up and keep your kidneys clean. Once you start losing weight it will become second nature. The trick is to have will power. Tell yourself I WILL lose this weight. Good luck. With this method I lost over 50 pounds since November. About eight pounds per month. That's two pounds per week. Once your stomach starts to shrink you are better able to manage hunger. |
OP here. I’m not planning on doing this. I want whatever I do to be sustainable |
Ten pounds in that time frame is probably more realistic for most people. Limit or eliminate meat, dairy, and sugar and focus on whole, minimally processed, plant foods versus foods made in plants. Do not drink calories. Eat large volumes of whole foods, and you will not be hungry. |
It’s so funny how everyone has different advice. I recommend pretty much the opposite of this poster. Focus on meat, eggs, and cheese and severely limit everything else. |
Low carb, little dairy, Intermittent Fasting, lots of water, 1200 calories a day. Not much fun but you can do it! |
Your advice is disgusting |
I am PP and agree there can be different advice. I've eaten both ways and lost weight both ways. For me, the plant focused option has been the most satiating, filling, and sustainable. I generally like those foods better and never loved meat other than the most processed types like deli meat and bacon (both considered to be carcinogenic). For OP's goal of quick weight loss, either option would probably work. |
Absolutely, I did this last summer at 51 and have kept it off.
I’ve kind of plateaued and want to lose more but I’ve kept it off despite not being as strict about the diet. I do think some things were lasting changes. I’m much less likely to eat desserts and sweets than before, it’s not that I don’t like them - I still totally do but I really got out of the habit. While actively losing I cut all added sugars or sweeteners out entirely except for a square of dark chocolate every day. I ate relatively low carb but not keto or anything. Lots of veggies and lean protein. Limited dairy except a Greek yogurt for breakfast. I had walked a lot previously but I upped the intensity and frequency. Lose It is helpful for getting an idea of what a good eating day looks like. |
Only severe anxiety makes me lose weight that fight
I've never been able to tell if it's just that I lose my appetite and eat less, or if anxiety itself somehow makes me lose weight |
Adding that I don’t eliminate meat. I really need it to feel satisfied but I focus on lean meats or good fats so lots of chicken, salmon and other fish, lean beef once or twice a week, shrimp and eggs a few times a week.I also eat a lot of veggies. Good fats also help with satiety - nuts, seeds, olive oil and avocado. Fruit twice a day for the most part. |
This OP! And if you really want to see a difference, count macros. You need to make use this calories are well allocated. And walk min10k steps per day! |
