PP again. It depends. If I eat a filling breakfast mid-morning, yes I skip lunch. If I eat early (like at 7:00) then I'm hungry at lunch. On the low doses, I was not hungry at all for 3 days and then it would wear off and I'd be hungry. Now I am in a steady state. I still get some PMS hunger every month but otherwise my regular meals are enough for me. |
I did. I just upped one level from it and it is worse now. |
I find that I'm barely hungry or that I eat about half what I had been eating. I also try to eat protein with each meal, as that's what I seem to crave. It's become a real eye-opener for me, that I just couldn't listen to my body's hunger signs (long story, including food insecurity through college, worked w/ therapist-nutritionist). I've even found that my brain will say, "snack time!" and my body has no interest. I think it's just breaking bad habits, which is really fantastic. |
OP here. Aside from feeling full sooner (and not overeating at any single meal), I haven't really felt any differently about food. I'm still snacky (with hunger) and have been replacing bad snacks with better snacks - greek yogurt, etc.
No nausea at all, which surprised me because I can get nauseous easily. Hoping higher dose will help reduce the snacky cravings? |
Probably. Make sure you aren't thinking snack because of habit or boredom. I found I really just didn't think about food so broke the snack habits. Everyone is different. I felt it immediately at the low does, and even stayed at .5 for quite a while because it was plenty. Eventually moved up to 1.0 and over time you do adapt to the dose. Which was fine because it helped to slow down the weight loss, which had been a little too fast in the early months. |
I know I mindlessly snacked before. And I am snacking less, but when I do I’m usually hungry. I have more hunger than I was expecting. Hope it subsides more at a higher dose. The “full” feeling definitely kicks in and I eat much less in any one setting. |
NP-This is exactly how I’m feeling too, PP. On .25 and in week 2. |
I do basic keto (yeah, boring) and have lost 60 pounds. boring I know but I don't get hungry. |
I am at the end of my first month. I am not in a program, my PCP prescribed .25 for me. I am nauseous a lot but it doesn't seem to stop me much from eating so I haven't really lost much weight. I'm in the third week and seem to have plateaued. |
I’ve been on Wegovy for about 8 months. In all that time, I was nauseous maybe twice. I aim for 1200 calories/day (3 meals and snacks), but I probably eat 1000 calories based on feeling full faster. I’ve lost over 40 pounds so far. What’s interesting is that prior to going on the drug, I ate around 1200 calories/day but did not lose much (and I was always hungry), so I think 1000 is what is doing the trick. I could never eat 1000 calories/day and not feel hungry without the drug! |
Breakfast: greek yogurt with fruit and nuts
Lunch: salad with protein Dinner: chicken or fish with veggies and maybe brown rice. Occasional cheese stick for a snack, but I was never a big snacker. Lots of water and gym 4 times a week Down 8 pounds the first month, just moving up dose this weekend. No noticeable side effects. |
I'm about a month in-- starting a higher dose this week. At the beginning, I felt quite full. Now, less so. I can still tell a difference but it's not pronounced. At first, I had a bit of indigestion but it was mild. Now, no side effects.
I eat pretty much what I ate before, but much less. When I get a drink from Starbucks, it might take me two hours to drink it. I'm never uncomfortable, but just don't guzzle it down like before. The biggest thing I notice is that I tend to eat breakfast later, lunch later, and then am really not hungry for dinner-- I might eat one egg or like 1/3 of a restaurant salad, or something like that. So I'm going out of my way to ensure that breakfast/lunch have fruits, veggies and protein. |
Someone suggested I pay attention to “the sigh”. Basically your body telling you when you’re full. I actually notice it now when I’m eating so I’ll stop and wait a few minutes to really listen to my body to see if I’m still hungry. I haven’t been. |
