He is a creep.

I think more like 20% but in careers that attract narcissists and where alcohol abuse and drug use are common, 50% would not surprise me.

I agree with previous poster who said he is a narcissist.

Intelligent, but nothing like as intelligent as he thinks he is, hence his subscription to all kinds of bs contrarian nonsense.

I think any time 4 separate women come forward with accusations like this, you have to take them very seriously. I believe them.

He’s hilarious and intelligent. And a sex addict. And a boundary-pusher.

I find him and Noel Fielding so funny on Countdown.

I don’t doubt many women regret having sex with him. And he may well have done all the things he is accused of. But I withhold judgment because SA has turned into a weaponized commodity, and I don’t trust it any longer. Especially against someone who fell out of fashion.

He has been so open about his sex addiction long before that was acceptable.

If 50% of men have sexually assaulted someone, we are dumbing down the definition of sexual assault to the point it minimizes/waters down the terrible experiences of actual victims. That is not OK.

This makes no sense.

Actually a lot of people have said his whole rightward anti-mainstream media anti-vax thing in recent years was because he knew that eventually these allegations would be coming out, so he needed to find an audience that would stick with him. The Trumper gulls fit the bill. Also his behavior was sufficiently notorious that mainstream comedians started to refuse to work with him…

“Mainstream comedians.” Lol.

Just wait, I bet there are plenty of women who wish they hadn’t slept with Matt Rife too.

Russell Brand is the Johnny Depp of comedy. I will wait and see whether these are Amber Heards leaving a turd in his bed.

Those of you who think this is a conspiracy or these women simply regret having slept with him...what are they getting out of it? You think a bunch of unconnected women just woke up one day and decided to go through the trauma of coming forward with this? They're remaining anonymous, they're not seeking fame or a payout.

You sound like a bunch of idiots.

This. Withholding judgment after one accusation is prudent (and note I said "withholding judgment" not calling the accuser and liar). After four? Five?

One thing people don't seem to understand is that women do not profit from accusations like this. It is not financially beneficial to them (often the opposite, as the attention often forces them to hire people to help them) and it can often put them in harms way. It is miserable and vulnerable to tell people that something like this happened to you. I've done it and it's so hard because of the shame our society assigns to women who are raped or sexually abused.

The idea that being a rape accuser is someone a wonderful experience that many women seek out is nuts. Are there some people who may make false accusations in order to seek out sympathy or attention. Yes, though I should note anyone who does this is likely still a trauma survivor of some kind because it's not a rational choice. I suppose there are women who might make these accusations falsely to enact revenge, but because it so rarely works out for the accuser, I think this would be extremely misguided. It's likely to backfire and make people support the person you are trying to hurt, and you can ruin your own rep that way.

Most people who come forward with plausible, consistent stories of rape are doing so because they are tormented by the memory and trauma of it, worry their rapist could be hurting others, and hope that in telling their story, their rapist might face some consequences for what he did and that they might experience some closure. It takes guts to do this. The idea that five different women would say these things about the same guy and they'd all be lying? You really have to do some mental gymnastics to believe that would be the case.

I only know him from Forgetting Sarah Marshall and his character creeped me out in that.

And you base this on…what, exactly?

And you are the judge of who is an "actual" victim, right? This is why women don't come forward. They are always blamed

NP well I would say about 50% of the women I know have been sexually assaulted at least once in their life so you do the math.
