SOL scores for 2021-22 were released in August 2022. People are expecting scores for 2022-23 to be released, now, August 2023. |
The separated out the data including those. |
| Why are sol scores important? |
Cool it with the all caps! Reading your post gave me anxiety. |
Some kids are exempt from taking them. |
WHY IS YOUNGKIN HIDING THIS FROM US?!?! |
Very few kids are exempt - a tiny fraction of a percent. |
Seriously |
Actually, it’s shame on your governor. |
| There is no data on the State website for any school or county. |
| They now force every special ed kid to take the SOL test who has spent any fraction of time in a gen ed class. This means a kid with a 60 IQ, overall, who has maybe a 67 IQ in spatial skills, has to take the SOL. They will not pass. |
DP. But as a tax paying and voting citizen, the scores matter to me. I want to know how the schools in my community are, or are not, meeting the needs of all children. Shame on you. |
Except you cannot compare a school that is predominantly white to one with a larger ESL or SPEd population. They are not bad schools, they just don’t have enough resources to help those kids. |

Here are the statewide SOL percentages that were posted to the RPS (Richmond) school board website then taken down:
History: 65% (-1 from the previous year) Reading: 73% (No improvement from the previous year) Writing: 65% (No improvement from the previous year) Math: 69% (+3 from the previous year) Science: 67% (+2 from the previous year) https://www.wtvr.com/news/local-news/virginia-delays-releasing-school-sol-pass-rates-august-31-2023 |
Uhm yes, that’s my point. Show us the scores so we can think about where resources need to go! |
