WE WANT SCHOOL WIDE SOL SCORES

ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!!
WHEN WILL THE STATE RELEASE THS SCHOOL SOL SCORES?

I know for Science classes a 50% WAS PASSING, SO THEY MIGHT BE HIGH, BUT WHEN ARE THEY GOING TO RELEASE THE SOL SCORES?
AFTER THE NOVEMBER ELECTION?
WE WANT THEM NOW, I TALKED TO THE SCHOOL PRINCIPAL TODAY AND SHE TOLD ME SHE CAN'T TELL ME WHAT OTHER KIDS GOT IN THEIR SOL TEST..... THEY CAN'T EVEN TELL ME THE SCHOOL AVERAGE.

FCPS used to release all this data on their school profiles, but the current Virginia Department of Education wants to control all release of data so now they just put a link to the VA DOE. But the current VA DoE can't even process teacher licenses in a timely way and have released so much faulty and mislabeled data that they are not likely to release more. I wish they would let it go back to more local control.

It is infuriating OP. I cannot for the life of me understand why this is so hard for them. I can't help but think the results dismal and they want time to pass so people forget about it.

These scores absolutely matter. They are an indicator of the competency of the school administration, a measure of the academic level the students are at, and indicator of teacher strength. These are all important factors if one is moving to FCPS to see which are school is the best for their kid.

Shame on FCPS!

FCPS used to release all this data on their school profiles. The state VA Dept of Education no longer allows that--they want to control all the data releases. Blame them not FCPS.

These scores do not matter. There are kids who don’t speak English being forced to take these tests. It only matters how your kid does.

They never released individual scores. The other thing is if kids fail but make progress from previous year it counts as a pass.

Why are you shouting?

The VDOE is having an unscheduled impromptu meeting as I type this. You should check out the documents listed in the agenda.

I think Glennnn wanted to wait until at least the budget was passed and possibly until after these midterm elections.

They released all the percentages of Pass Proficient, Pass Advanced, and not Passing. CLose enough.

Yes, but these tests are unfair to ESL kids. So the data is skewed.

It’s not FCPS. It’s the state refusing to release the data. I don’t know if it’s delayed for political reasons or because the current state Education Department is so inept (screwed up the budget tool, botched the social studies revisions…) but it’s the state’s fault.

2021-22 results are online. They are always a year behind because there are 132 districts all reporting data

Don't let facts get in the way of OP yelling.

The state is delayed.
