Is it really unrealistic though? There is a high divorce rate in these types of jobs; traditionally, it’s men who are flying all over the place putting out fires. |
I’m the PP and I come from a marriage like this. What was unrealistic is the fact that her husband was so supportive of her running off just when she was needed most. As you say, there is a high divorce rate among these types of couples - it was totally unrealistic that the husband wasn’t resentful about their lifestyle and ready for a divorce. Not only did he also have a high-powered career, but he was constantly left alone as the girls’ primary parent/caregiver. That kind of understanding relationship doesn’t last long, regardless of who’s the absentee parent. Ask me how I know. |
In addition to Nicole Kidman’s annoying lips and speech pattern in this show, the man who plays her husband is the worst. Constantly speaking in long monologues. The writing is awful. |

I am completely distracted by Nicole Kidman - now it's her earlobes. |
OMG! They are huge. They need to cover those monsters up. |
IKR she should just get NK to come home with her and they should both quit their jobs and sister-wife nurse the daughter back to health with essential oils and raw milk |
I’m sorry, but Kidman’s Botox face is so distracting. That’s not about superficiality, it’s about distracting from the story. I’ve switched over to more UK series because the actresses look natural and real, which helps good storytelling. |
If not the Botox, you complain about her earlobes. jfc, we’re so hard on women. |
I’m not talking about her ears. She cannot move her face, which looks like an expressionless mask when she speaks. And she’s supposed to be emoting. It’s absurd. |
Her face is just weird, I’m not sure what kind of hollywood pressure to stay young and relevant, makes a person do that to their face. I mean are her friends, director and plastic surgeons not raising an eyebrow and telling her “honey this is not your look”
It’s just so awful looking. She has a scary face. It’s painful to watch her. Her face is bloated, tight and puffed up in all of the wrong places. NK was beautiful, but sometimes you have to let the idea of beauty go, especially if you had a delicate face in your youth. A woman with bolder and fuller features can better get away with the fillers but not if your looks were fine and delicate. That look doesn’t age well at all. Much better to be a character actress or an actual good actress, Meryl Streep, Dianne Keaton, Dame Edna, if you want longevity. Her face is monstrous. She looks like a caricature, a bloated faced blow up doll. |
Oh my lord those earlobes! What the hell happened! It's a good reminder to never sleep with earrings on, and to wear lightweight earrings. Also her mouth/lips are really messed up, her speech pattern is strange and she seems quite bored by her role. The acting on the part of the actress playing Aaliyah is terrrrrible, very rehearsed. I hated that scene when they were trying clothes on - so predictable like who didn't see that kiss coming! Come on! |
I noticed her earlobes in Big Little Lies |
We’re terrible to women. |
Yes - but this thread is no different from all the other threads on this forum. Do you complain about those too? |
