Special Ops: Lioness (Amazon Prime)

Glad I checked this thread because I was going to watch it. Too bad, I really really like feminist shows and I love seeing female representation in the military. (I sometimes regret being socially conditioned to want "acceptable" life goals like doctor/STEM career etc. when really I would've thrived at West Point, but didn't even think to apply.)

This sounds like garbage. I'd rather re-watch Mulan.

Was it the earlobes that drove you away?

Was that last episode the finale? I'm wondering if there will be one more to show what happens to everyone. Will the two women (can't even remember their names!) find each other and live happily ever after? Will Nicole Kidman leave her utterly dull and pretentious husband who seems to always be sitting at his desk, talking in soliloquies? Will Zoe Saldana realize that she is a terrible parent and get that desk job she was talking about?

Having grown up with an abusive, neglectful, narc mom, I'll pass on this one.

I’m watching this now and really enjoying it - esp because filmed locally. I love the spy genre.

Is this the show with Jojo Siwa? I want to see that.

SPOILERS:

Live happily ever after? The Arab girl no longer believes her loved was returned and the Marine brutally killed her fiancé and father. Pretty sure they are not getting together.

No, Kidman and hubby are fine with their relationship.

Zoe said the desk job was already done. If it were a man going to the job she did, would you say he was a bad father?

And yes, hubby and I enjoyed the show.

Word salad ^^. As for your last sentence,

Just finished the series: I almost stopped watching because Nicole Kidman was so terrible it was distracting. She might not have been that bad had I not seen so many of her previous acting roles. She just seems like a different person - the lips, the voice, the face work. Hard to watch.

All in all, it was a so-so show. Couldn't stop watching even though the writing could've been much better. Had good potential but just didn't meet it.

Zoe Saldana, whom I also usually like, is also an annoying character. Very abrasive and a terrible parent.

These two made it unwatchable for me. I usually like these type of shows but what is with the putting actors in roles just because people recognize them? And some actors are in so many shows the characters are never believable.

I really liked it. Esp Zoe. I also liked her no win situation with having a family. It's realistic in terms of having a career as a woman v being a mom. I think NK was good. Season 2 comes up later this month. I've seen much worse. But I also like these kinds of shows

It's really hard to watch this aspect of the show. Her husband is far too understanding and supportive of her too. So unrealistic and unfair.

IKR she should just get NK to come home with her and they should both quit their jobs and sister-wife nurse the daughter back to health with essential oils and raw milk

LMAOOO thank you for this. Glad someone in this ridiculous thread has sense

I thought the show was amazing. I binged the entire first season last night. NK is supposed to play a stolid character, or she wouldn’t have been the woman in charge of that ops program.

Joe (Zoe) has a much more important job than any of us will ever have. Of course she’s gonna have to make sacrifices with her family. She can’t very well say, “sorry, can’t nab that really dangerous terrorist, my daughter’s sick. Let my team handle it and if they die, they die.”
