I think Joe has main character syndrome. She can’t imagine these operations without herself at the center, controlling everything. This last one in Iraq/Iran, for example. She could have managed it from Langley just as well but instead she insists on going with the team, even with her injury. Idiot.

Yeah, she starting to grate on me as well. There is no way her husband would have continued to put up with her acting like she’s the only one who can do the job.

+2
She is one of the least likeable characters I've come across in a long time.

I love this show. I binged Season 1 in two days and started Season 2 today. I'm cleaning the kitchen now, and I'm going to binge some more episodes tonight!

I liked season 1 a lot, but season 2 was mediocre: all explosion bullshit, too much Taylor Sheridan, lioness was not as interesting as the first, plot sucked. Hopefully they turn it around for a third season.

Didn’t make sense they went for the Mexican guy and then sent another crew to Iran

I'm only 2 episodes in, but I like how there's more action/combat already in season 2. The first episode was so good!

Will Zoe be back for S3? Her character was talking like she wanted to quit.

She mentioned that in S1 as well. She'll never quit, even though she could manage these operations from the safety of a desk. So incredibly selfish.

Do you also think members of SEAL Team Six who had families back home were selfish? They were the specialized elite unit of the Navy that carried out sensitive and dangerous missions. They are the team that took out bin Laden. And that's real life, not some made-up TV show.

I don't get why everyone says she is selfish. I think she's brave, smart, and fearless. Could I live her life? Heck no, but I'm thankful people are willing to do those types of jobs.

Seal team people don’t decide though, they sign up to follow orders and are essential on the ground. She otoh isn’t needed most of the time, leaves her family for no good reason. She doesn’t even prepare the lioness ladies nearly enough and even jeopardizes their safety with stupid moves like getting the season 1 one beat up, not giving them enough prep. She’s both a hardass and completely neglectful at work and at home and has an enormous ego. It makes perfect sense given she’s a Taylor Sheridan projection.

I really like this show, including nk, but I don’t think any of the characters are likable. I also have to say that joes’s response to her daughter when asked why she does it was pretty terrible. She does it so her daughter doesn’t have to learn chinese.

I thought the first season was good, but now it’s just a potato chip. No actual value, yet I will consume it. As to the terrible mom stuff, maybe. But no one says this about male action heroes.

Which of them have kids though? Bourne, jack ryan, mission impossible dude…they don’t have kids.

I loved this show so much that I searched for a thread.

1) I appreciated seeing strong women in traditional male roles.
2) I liked that the husband was the primary caregiver.
3) They state up front that their marriage was rocky, but now have come together to make it work because at the end of the day they truly love each other.
4) I think it started slow and got better. Definitely plot holes, but if you buy in then they don't matter.
5) When NK was young, notice that her hair was always down, covering quite a bit of her head and her ears. It gave the appearance of a much smaller face. In both The Perfect Couple and Lioness they put her in terrible wigs that showed more of her face and ears which exaggerated the work she's had done. She looks better in Season 2.
6) In Season 1 EVERYONE seemed to be wearing bad wigs--as if they didn't want a hair budget. Super weird.
7) Circling back to I loved the strong women in non-traditional roles. Based on the comments here, despite DCUM supposedly being so progressive, you are showing a great deal of a traditional mindset that Zoe's character is a strong, ruthless warrior defending our country instead of it being a man.
