This. It's beyond unconscionable that Fox is allowed to broadcast on military bases and government installations. Do what you like at home/with your own internet, but leadership needs to take a stand.

Late last year she was demoted from E-7 to E-5 and separated from the service with an honorable discharge. She definitely got off easy.

She’s a traitor. The guy who originally leaked the documents is an idiot, but her amplification of them is treasonous.

There are too many of them. Too many at my church too. There has to be something else they can turn their heads to feel right about. They are black and white thinkers and don’t seem to have a lot of ability to think through consequences. If its power related or church related their mind says go for it.

You people are doing to the military exactly what you have done over the last few years to law enforcement.

You are lumping ALL military into one group and demonizing them ALL because of the actions of a few.

Do you do the same to teachers when a teacher is arrested for having sex with a student?
Or, to lawyers when a lawyer is arrested for embezzlement?
Or, to physicians when a doctor is arrested for molesting his patients?

Russia is attractive to lot of the rank and file in the military

My governor has a hotline for parents to write in about teachers who are too woke. And on top of that mismanaged the money going to all jurisdictions lying about how much money they would get this year and on top of this, thinks teachers should now have to arm themselves in the classrooms on top of teaching 30 1st graders. So yeah, I think the right does this all the time.

The military does great things, but even they have admitted they have a huge problem on their hands and that is with them dismissing people from service instead of actually prosecuting them for their crimes on top of all the cover up. As you can see in the church, anything that is mostly all male with a lot of competition for power, you are going to have misuse of that power.
Same for the police. The military and police do not police themselves and spend a huge amount of time berating others and calling them weak. It's an unfortunate fact of their lifestyle. Luckily cameras are helping to weed out some of the problems in the police force but the military does not have this type of supervision.

There must be thousands of people doing the same thing and for this person not to be noticed by the military and called out by a NYT report is scary stuff. There is a huge oversight problem in the military right now and a huge problem with right wing propaganda spreading there. Unfortunately, the military themselves isn't doing enough to address either of these. How many others are involved in just this one case? Even this one kid had two people in his own family who were huge military supporters? How do you stray that far away from carrying out the fundamental duties of the military in a family like that?

The first thing my Catholic friend did when the Arlington report came out about her own diocese and sex abuse, which was years after the Boston revelation, was to type up a response on the Arlington Catholic Herald website the same day saying she felt bad for all the good priests that had to be lumped in with the bad ones. It's a typical tactic of someone who is not willing to actually look the problem in the eye and face it. Many people are able to say the military is strong, needs to be funded, and is protecting our nation in many ways AND also call this out as a huge problem.

So, in just 2 days this past week, six different teachers were arrested for having sex with minors.
Do you think this is a huge problem?

You are deflecting but to address your "concern" I have no idea what part of the country you are talking about and I don't know if these are all related to actual in school experiences. If these people have been arrested, it seems like the courts will deal with the matter appropriately and have confidence in this. I can guarantee that there are more than six sex offenses that happened in the military this week with a much smaller population many of which do not end up reported. Sex offenses are also a huge problem in the military. The are related to imbalance of power.

Why is this an issue that you are comparing to treason? First off, there are more sex offenses in the military than in schools and second, we can have a discussion that separates these issues to address them each one by one. Start a thread about sex offenses if it bothers you so much.

What I do know is that the military actually says it has a huge problem with right wing militants in the actual military and veterans and that they do not prosecute most crimes that come to their ears either dismissing the event all together or discharging individuals without a criminal hearing. I wll trust the military that this is an actual large issue that needs addressing. They also have access to weapons that can be turned against civilians. Having a lot of American support Russia over the US is a problem and there do not seem to be enough controls on classified material.

We lumped police together because rather than denouncing the bad cops and the bad behavior and trying to do better, they just put up walls, refused to acknowledge any wrongdoing, doubled down by attacking their critics, lobbying conservative politicians to fight against any means of accountability, blaming everyone else, and doing less enforcement in the hopes that citizens would beg for more cops, more funding and no accountability.

I've never seen any of the other groups you mention engage in as much brazen malfeasance, nor engage in those organized, collective defense tactics as heavily as the police did.

The military and police wear a uniform. The reason is to demonstrate cohesiveness. One person represents the while group when in uniform. You can’t just always take the good and leave the bad aspects of a group identity. If military are ok with accepting “thank you for your service” just for wearing a uniform then they also get to deal with negative perceptions as well. Don’t like it? Then maybe they should police themselves and remove the bad apples.

And, you are doing it to the military now.
Do you notice a pattern here?

The military is basically going to have to undergo an ideological purge.

I agree. Get rid of Milley and Austin and get DEI out of the military.
Rot stops at the top.

What amazes me is that in addition to the deflections, there are actually supporters of this man as a patriot as if the people in the military can't even distinguish espionage anymore. I hope the Dominion lawsuit will stop some of this partisan behavior over country.
