WTF is happening inside the military?

A so­cial-me­dia ac­count over­seen by a for­mer U.S. Navy non­com­mis­sioned of­fi­cer—a prom­inent on­line voice sup­port­ing Rus­sia’s war on Ukraine—played a key role in the spread of in­tel­li­gence doc­u­ments al­legedly leaked by Air­man First Class Jack Teix­eira, re­post­ing files from ob­scure on­line chat rooms.

A pur­ported Russ­ian blog­ger known as Don­bass De­vushka, which trans­lates as Don­bas Girl, is the face of a net­work of pro-Krem­lin so­cial-me­dia, pod­cast­ing, mer­chan­dise and fundrais­ing ac­counts. But the per­son who hosted pod­casts as Don­bass De­vushka and over­sees these ac­counts is a Wash­ing­ton-state-based for­mer U.S. en­listed avi­a­tion elec­tron­ics tech­ni­cian whose real name is Sarah Bils. 

Ms. Bils, 37 years old, served at the U.S. naval air sta­tion on Whid­bey Is­land un­til late last year, even as the ac­counts she had es­tab­lished and su­per­vised glo­ri­fied the Russ­ian mil­i­tary and the para­military Wag­ner Group. They are among the most widely fol­lowed Eng­lish-lan­guage so­cial-me­dia out­lets pro­mot­ing Rus­sia’s views.

The military, like most government agencies, has been infiltrated by right wing crazies. I have no idea how they rout them out, but we’re in danger until they are.

I'm just so angry at the military right now. I never blamed them for Afghanistan or Iraq, but this is out of control and I am fed up with hearing them whine about women and masks and whatever minutiae they think the rest of the world is "weak" about. Either you are focused on security and protection and can't be bothered with these trifling civilian issues or you are as weak as all of us. Maybe weaker because you also aren't doing your job.

Yes. Fox has already admit it lies to the public. It needs to be banned from all bases and Armed Services broadcasting/packages.

Eh, the military cannot do grey. The left makes everything grey; which simply does not compute when you have your finger on the trigger.

War is kinetic; once you hit a button, pull a trigger there is no going back.

The left makes that millisecond decision a court case 9 times out of 10.

No doubt the military is looking for a friend; and currently it is not democrats.

It is illegal to work with official elements of a foreign government on national security matters while a USG employee or military service member. Conflict of interest? It would also need to be approved by Ethics, particularly as she was trying to get paid from her social media advocacy.

It is also illegal for any American to provide material support to Russia, given the sanctions. She was fundraising money for the war!

She started this work while still in the service.

Late last year she was demoted from E-7 to E-5 and separated from the service with an honorable discharge. She definitely got off easy.
