We lumped police together because rather than denouncing the bad cops and the bad behavior and trying to do better, they just put up walls, refused to acknowledge any wrongdoing, doubled down by attacking their critics, lobbying conservative politicians to fight against any means of accountability, blaming everyone else, and doing less enforcement in the hopes that citizens would beg for more cops, more funding and no accountability.

I've never seen any of the other groups you mention engage in as much brazen malfeasance, nor engage in those organized, collective defense tactics as heavily as the police did.[/quote]
