Need to drop 5lbs this week

You might be a bit pale for the event but as a weight loss strategy I can attest it is very effective. My husband and son had it too with similar results.

This is good advice. Also, lift weights. You can see toning results right away.

Eat some raw chicken.

What a horrible idea. This is not a pro eating disorder forum, OP.

It's not possible to do that within a week in any healthy way. I would focus on reducing bloat by eating primarily veggies and proteins.

Zero carbs, lots of water - but be prepared to be very irritable!

My daughter was in the hospital last year and I was so stressed that I could literally not swallow solid food. I knew I needed to take care of myself so I could be there for her, so I ate soup and drank healthy smoothies (no or low sugar, added avocado, unsweetened yogurt, and greens to try to get more nutrients). I was not trying to lose weight, but I dropped 20 pounds in a few weeks. It was scary, honestly, but I needed to lose weight anyway.

So maybe go liquid diet? But make sure you're getting lots of protein and minimal sugar/carbs.

God no! I gained 20lbs during chemo. Would not recommend.

Good luck, Op.

No salt, no alcohol, drink a ton of water and keep calories under 1200 per day.

You can easily lose that much in water weight in a week

Maybe we shouldn't be encouraging eating disorders?

Eat plain foods (no sugar, fat, and limit carbs - just veggies, white meat poultry/fish, oatmeal that’s just oats, water, maybe a little salt) and exercise a lot. You need food for energy to exercise. Corn and potatoes are carbs, not vegetables.

I find that when I think I’m starving and “need” a candy bar or other snack, if I tell myself that’s not an option, but that if I’m really hungry I can eat a can of green beans, a bowl of broccoli, etc. (basically any vegetable), I’m really not that hungry after all.

I don’t think eating like this for one week only would constitute an eating disorder.

pp here who posted this

I agree with other posters that restricting calories this much longterm would be unsustainable and unhealthy. There’s a happy medium between asceticism and candy bars. Once you get past this initial period, add healthy fats, carbs, fruits, etc. Even an occasional candy bar treat is fine.

Stop weighing yourself. And buy a bigger dress that actually fits. No one cares what size it is.
