Thoughts and prayers OP.

For me, I have to choose either the burger OR the fries. If I have both, I feel like crap. But, I eat both regularly...

Wendy's curly fries? With horse radish sauce? OMG. I used to love it once-upon-a-time. Now I am 30 yrs older. With health problems. Post COVID, vaxxed, genetic problems are starting to show up, doing doom scrolling instead of downwards facing dog....SO, next time, eat a small healthy salad first, pop a metformin, and then eat the burger and fries.

Wait, Wendy's has curly fries? Now, currently?

Or you know, what’s all they can afford / that’s all that’s in their neighborhood.

Yeah because fast food is so cheap now. (Nice try though)

Please share how much a non fast food burger / fries / soda combo is.

Still cheaper than buying salmon, salad, and rice from even the cheapest of grocery stores....and obviously fast food fills you up and is satisfying (unlike, say, a lighter healthy meal).

No it isn’t. If you make your own meals at home, you’ll know it’s so much more cost-effective than the crap available outside.

I only eat this stuff about once a year at this point in my life and I always feel perfectly fine afterwards. My normal diet is a lot of yogurt, fruit, nuts, vegetables, whole grains and chicken, a little red meat, but my body doesn't shut down from a fast food meal.

Do you have other digestive problems, OP?

Next time you have to eat fast food, ask for a lettuce wrapped burger and skip the soda and fries. You will feel so much better. The fries, seed oils in dressings and the oil used for frying, and sugary drink (toxic sucralose if you choose diet), is what is making you feel sick.

Fast food isn’t optimal but you can eat a healthier version with a few changes.

The answer, OP, is you build up a tolerance. You can do it, too. Fast food is delicious.

Your meal was mostly carbs. What did you expect? Skip dinner and you’ll be fine.

I usually just feel disgruntled that I spent the money and calories on something that is generally lukewarm and so-so instead of REALLY feeling like satisfying, freshly deep fried evil. (My husband and kids love stopping at McDonald's when we drive to my parents' 2-3x a year. I'm always

I hear you OP. Traveled a weekend back and ate high fat, high calorie junk the whole time. I pretty much instantly gained 5 lbs, and have felt bloated for two weeks straight.

People who are used to eat trash get used to feeling like trash. Even after week of eating very strict, I still don't feel right. Your gut microbiota absolutely play a giant role in your health and mood. Yes mood. My friend is a bariatric surgeon who has done thousands of surgeries where he removes large portions of peoples' intestines. He says he can absolutely see changes in mood after removing portions of peoples' guts, and it is known that people who undergo large bowel removals an develop things like compulsive behaviors all of the sudden.

Eating bad food can make your gut GI quite unhappy. Small amounts can make you feel sick for a while.

Update: still some symptoms this morning. I skipped dinner, just had some plain yogurt.

On the bright side, I will never eat fast food again!

I normally have a strong stomach. It never bothers me other than the once a year I catch a bug from my kids.

It isn’t in her head if she isn’t used to eat that much fat in one meal.

No, no. My mistake. Not Wendy's. I meant Arby's.
