Unfortunately, it will take direct military assault of Russia (which prob will never happen)
Otherwise it’s going to be a slow grind with many deaths and many lives ruined by forced migration and/or poverty |
| The Russian military will be largely pushed out of Ukraine by spring. Ukraine is much better equipped/outfitted going into the winter and have all the momentum. Of course, that means Russia will continue its new leading role as a state sponsor of terrorism and lob missiles from a distance. But at that point, it's terrorism...not war. |
This kind of thinking severely backfired on the U.S. The U.S. has exported mayhem and instability to its neighbors south of its border for how many generations? Why? Because it fears a strong Latin America could challenge America on various fronts. Well, just lookie what it led to. Latin Americans fleeing their broken countries and pouring into America. Before too long, they will be the majority population. Before too long, the U.S. culture will be a reflection of its changing citizens. Why would the U.S. want to weaken Europe? That is as dumbass as weakening Latin America for short-sighted reasons. Stupid. Not to mention sociopathic. |
I think immigrants joining our country is preferable to neighbors that want to invade us militarily. Sounds like we made the right choice. |
| Honestly, I think “what it takes” is for every Russian city, town, and village to be a smoldering hole in the ground. The Russians are like cockroaches- they will find a way to survive even the end of days. Always have, always will. They will always win a war of attrition. |
No matter how you slice it… what does it take to stop it? |
Are you Ukrainian? This would explain your thinking, otherwise you are just a danger to society. You have no idea how many Russians have nothing to do with this war and don’t support it - they just can’t do very much unfortunately. Do you support all North Koreans or Iranians killed too? Sick! |
While I don’t think there would have been “strong Latin america” even if the US kept to itself, I also don’t think it would ever invade. |
Literally everything you listed is true for Ukraine's populace as well. |
You're a f'ing moron bigot. The US invasion of Libya turned a previously stable country into a terrorist haven and destroyed life for ordinary Libyans. I guess the suffering of people who are brown and Muslin doesn't really register for you. |
No country in Latin America ever wanted to invade the US. Stop making up threats to justify the crimes America visited on LatAm. |
+1. The Ukrainians will continue their attrition strategy through the winter. The Russians will have weak and unreliable logistics and supply but still a great willingness and ability to throw warm Russian bodies into the meat grinder. So, Ukraine will push Russia out, but not this spring - more like summer to fall. When the Russians are out, Ukraine will be invited to NATO immediately. And Russians will be given a warning that further attacks on Ukraine will be considered attacks on NATO with proportional conventional NATO response on Russian soil for any attacks launched from Russian soil. Putin will have to decide if he wants to be king of a smaller fiefdom or if he wants to keep fighting and losing. Like Milosevic he will swallow defeat, label it something else, and continue to maintain power of a diminished Russia. |
No, I’m an American. We should have ground them into oblivion when we had the chance. And no, I don’t really care for the “innocent” Russians sleeping soundly in their warm beds tonight while actual innocent Ukrainian children shiver with hungry bellies in a bomb shelter. Russia started this war of aggression, remember? Russia is committing war crimes every single day. Time to bring the pain home. |
This is very flawed thinking. we know a lot about what Russians think. Some very small number of citizens have spoken out against the war publicly. Hundreds of thousands of men have left the country to avoid the military draft but by and large Russian men abroad have not used their position of privilege and safety to protest the war. Some men in the military have protested their lack training and equipment, but not their mission; torture, war crimes, attacks on civilian objects and looting by Russian military are widespread indicating that there is little to no opposition to these tactics up and down the chain of command. Many Russian citizens , civilian and military families, express support for the war, using vile, genocidal, racist language. We know this from interviews and social media. There is a great silent majority who 🙈🙉🙊, but the bystander is on the side of the perpetrator. It doesn’tbmatter if those silent Russians don’t like the war if they are not publicly saying so. No one can excuse them while Ukrainians are sitting in dark unheated house praying to hear from their kidnaped children and hoping to find the bodies of their disappeared relatives. |
